Chapter 14 - Unnamed

Chapter 14

(The Pull Hidden Behind Arguments — Is Love Really This Simple?)

The next morning felt a bit hotter than usual. As soon as Aishi reached college, her mood turned sour. The excitement of the spring festival, the rush of rehearsals—everything around her was buzzing with energy, yet her mind felt distracted. She hadn't seen Ayush for quite a while today. He usually arrived early, sitting quietly in a corner reading a book or watching others rehearse. But today, he wasn't there.

Aishi stood silently, her eyes fixed on the gate, holding an unspoken question—Why are you so late today, Ayush?

Suddenly, someone held out a cup of tea from behind.

"Hey, girl, your morning doesn't start without tea. Why the long face today?"

Aishi was startled. It was Ayush. A paper cup in his hand, that familiar half-smile on his lips.

"So, you'll never learn to be on time, will you? Everyone thought you wouldn't come at all."

Ayush smiled softly. "If I'm here, you won't worry—that's my biggest achievement."

Aishi turned her face away. "These dramatic lines don't suit you."

"But I act in a play, remember? Reality often hides inside drama."

"I don't like your philosophy, Ayush," she said and started walking.

From behind, Ayush called out, "Nothing about me seems to please you these days! What happened?"

Aishi stopped. She turned slightly and said, "If you can't understand, I won't explain. And there's nothing to explain anyway."

Ayush came and stood beside her.

"Listen, I may not understand everything, but I've learned this much—what you don't say often hides the truest things."

Aishi stayed silent. Not a word. Only the rustling of leaves in the air, the distant sound of rehearsals. Between them stood an invisible wall, yet leaning against that wall was a fragile, swaying trust.

"Aishi," Ayush said softly, "no matter how much we act, reality doesn't stop. The things we hide between our dialogues become the most visible. You understand that, don't you?"

Aishi looked at him for a moment.

"You're not easy to understand. Sometimes I wonder why I talk so much with such a complicated guy!"

Ayush smiled.

"Because I want to understand a complicated girl like you. You're not simple—that's what draws me."

Aishi smiled a little this time. Then quietly said,

"Can't we just stay like this? Without thinking about anything? Ignoring society, religion, family—just being ourselves?"

Ayush replied slowly,

"We can try. But you know, every time I see fear in your eyes, I get angry at society. Angry at those people who separate us just based on names and identities."

Aishi lowered her head.

"My fear is my biggest obstacle. I know you're with me. But can I really gather the courage to say—let's go?"

"Not today," Ayush said gently. "Today, just say—stay. Let's live this moment without thinking about anything."

Aishi nodded.

"Then today is just ours. Just the two of us. You and me. Ayush and Aishi. No religion, no social pressure."

"Then perform a little louder today! I'm ready," Ayush laughed.

"I feel like I have to act every day just looking at you," Aishi smiled back.

They walked toward the stage together. In the distance, the sound operator shouted, "Fix the microphone! Today is the final rehearsal!"

Aishi and Ayush stepped onto the stage. The first scene—two strangers meeting by chance, misunderstandings, arguments, and in the end, saying so much without saying anything.

No one knows what lives behind this curtain of acting. No one knows how real emotions are quietly growing between Aishi and Ayush. This story, these arguments, this friendship—everything is slowly moving toward a deeper feeling. A feeling that perhaps doesn't have a name yet, but is growing stronger every day.

That night, Aishi stood in front of the mirror after returning home. In her reflection, her eyes held a restless uncertainty, filled with unspoken words. Their hands hadn't touched, yet the feeling lingered like a silent connection. There was no playfulness in her eyes, only a deep question—Will this love survive?

That night, she wrote in her diary:

"Today Ayush was beside me. He said very simple things, yet those simple words carried so much assurance. I don't know if I'll find the courage. But I know I want to stay beside him. Every day. A little more. If I fall, he'll be there—that belief itself is my courage."

Ayush opened his diary too and wrote:

"Maybe love is still far away. But I know Aishi is slowly walking toward me. She's beginning to understand—my love doesn't seek religion, doesn't look for names—it only wants her hand. Her silent trust. I'm waiting. Patiently. Calmly. Because I know one day, she'll say—let's go."

What happens next? Will Ayush and Aishi's love find its completion?
