Ethan was in another meeting again. He was questioning his career choices while the others were discussing something. Thanks to the brat, Valentine, he was suspended on the suspicion of letting the teen escape.
"If you think it's so easy, you do!" Ethan thought puffing his cigarette
A voice snapped, "Aren't you going to say anything, Ethan?"
He looked at the source of the voice the woman whose been on his back, Celina leader of the Peacock Guild known as 'the eternal second' that follows after Gabriel's guild in rankings of the country.
"Do you need something from me? I'm on leave so technically I can't be here so you won't here a sound from me." Ethan said bitterly
Celina frowned, "Why did I let him get away?!"
Ethan kept his mouth shut and thanked his past self for never joining a guild or he would have cursed. Do they think life is so easy since they haven't been on the field for some time?
A man laughed, "So should he do as you did, Celina?"
Celina froze and coughed slightly requesting for the discussion on how to handle the situation.
"They've been been quiet, could they be in hiding?" Gabriel asked
Mr. Creed shook his head, "Please turn your attention to the screen."
They followed his instruction and saw a pictures upload on it. Valentine in white pants and a white shirt with colorful patterns on its sleeves. He was holding a glass of champagne and leaned on roulette table.
The other picture was Vladimir in full black suit with a black overcoat with glasses connect with a silver chain. There was two towering men beside him, one held the tablet of him and he was saying something.
"Meet Vladimir and Valentine the new heads of Nox Family in the underworld. Contacts say that they're even better and more terrifying than the previous one." Mr. Creed told "Most risked their lives just to bring a few photos-"
A knock interrupted Mr. Creed's words
The person spoke, "Sir, there's abnormal weather at on of the Pioneer Universities...Vladimir has been spotted and we believe he's aiming for one of the training rifts."
Mr. Creed nodded his understanding, "Send in some of the best to capture him."
Gabriel spoke, "I'll send in my second son as well."
"I'll assist as well and add one of our promising Pioneers." Lesia added
Ethan thought, "Only that much. Won't they be insulted that your underestimating them...ha...I'll call for help to save them."
Gabriel's second son, Blake advanced with the government Pioneers and a woman from his mother's guild, Summers who recently been making a name for herself.
Although his mind wasn't focused on them, he kept this gaze ahead and looked at Vladimir. Every since his mother told them about father's secret children he has felt conflicted.
"VLADIMIR NOX! PLEASE SURRENDER YOURSELF IMMEDIATELY!!" A voice shouted
Blake saw his younger brother's cold frosty blue eyes shift toward him and a stare for a moment.
"Ah...you look familiar." His deep vice echoed
Several support members of the squad collapsed on the floor shaking after meeting his gaze with intense fear. Some fainted on the spot which made Blake flustered.
"We need to be careful." The Summers member, Tiffany whispered
Vladimir was now facing them.
He sighed, "I apologize about that, Humphrey taught us it what Pioneers call a passive skill, something beyond my control. Eitherway who asked you all to be so weak?"
"You said you know me?" Blake spoke
Tiffany pulled on his sleeve to stop but Blake pushed her away. He never listened to his father on most occasions but he came to meet one of his abandoned children.
The university was locked off so media teams couldn't enter but a story was already oozing out to the public. Whereas the ten guilds where watching though body cams on the squad.
"What is he doing?" Lesia and Gabriel thought
Vladimir's calm voice echoed, "Yes, I think I do.....ah...you look a bit like Gabriel."
"I'm his second son, Blake." He informed
Vladimir spoked, "Blake McVon, troublemaker of the family as well as freelance Pioneer, correct?"
"Yes, I would like to talk with you." Blake smiled
Vladimir was surprised and looked toward the towering men behind him.
"Did I hear correctly?" He asked
The man on the right nodded, "Yes, Head of House. He wishes to talk with you."
"If its about your father, I've honestly forgotten about him. He's not so significant for us to bother about something like revenge, we simply like being powerful." Vladimir told
Blake nodded, "I dislike my father as well so I don't want to talk about him either. Just a chat, it might be benefit you."
Vladimir's interest was peaked and a card materialized in front of Blake. It was signed with his new name Vladimir S. Nox decorated with stars.
"Coe to Nightfall City. I would like to talk with you more sadly we need to cut it short today since an annoyance is on the way." Vladimir frowned
Blake saw a pair of people rushing toward the squad. Tiffany had sent out a signal flare while he was distracted Blake clicked his tongue at his negligence.
"All those who are weak, naturally belong to me now." Vladimir smiled faintly
"STOP!" The rescuers yelled with some understanding
Those who fainted turned into small orbs of various colors and flew toward Vladimir. He turned his gaze to the rift he was eying and the core that was visible again.
A training rift is a type of permanent rift which has been capture from the invaders and monster from within after a certain amount of time.
The core of such a rift is kept in a secure enhanced titanium box and only brought out when a group of students enter the rift.
Vladimir was waiting for the students that enter to exit because their combat teacher was the one who had this box and after fighting in the rift it would be easier to obtain....was the information they received from Ethan.
He jumped into the air and looked at the petite woman holding a hammer. A man leapt toward him with a sword but only hit into a wall of ice.
"You're strong." Vladimir smile with a hint of madness in his eyes
The woman frowned, "I see what Ethan warned us about. You won't let this be easy will you?"
Vladimir shrugged, "It's not in my nature."
The man prepared to attack again until sirens started to ring. Vladimir made dust tornadoes rise and block their sight.
"ALL CITIZENS RUSH TO YOUR NEAREST SAFE POINTS A RIFT IS GOING TO BREAK! I REPEAT, PLEASE-" A voice boomed
The rift the students entered broke open as a woman covered in blood walked out with a box. Monsters slipped out rushing out in all directions.
Vladimir removed his overcoat, pulled up his sleeves and brought his hand down. Blue flames rained down at his command on everything except is allies and Blake while the pair looked at Vladimir with anger.
"Now I got what I wanted. Shall we half some real fun?" Vladimir said as have his body turned into flames
