Blake advances into the building looking at the map in his hand.
"Who drew this? It's terrible!" He frowned
Delphine sighed, "Head Valentine isn't multi-talented, he has weakness too."
"So he did this to screw me over?" he asked sharply
She smiled, "Probably."
Blake grabbed a fleeing receptionist and smiled kindly, "Which direction is the research department?"
"Why...why do you need to know?" she asked squeaking he tiny bit of courage
Blake lied, "The terrorist are confirmed to be targeting that area, we're on the way to apprehend them."
"I see!" she reacted and gave directions
They dashed forward. The receptionist continued her dash to the front door but was grabbed by another person and felt that today was probably an unlucky day.
"Is the words 'INFORMATION HERE' written on my forehead or something?" she thought snapping her gaze to the person
Arthur smiled, "We were dispatched to help. Have you seen any suspicious individuals?"
"Huh? No, Pioneer Blake said they're capturing....Yes I've seen something suspicious, Blake McVon stated that his team was sent to arrest them and asked for directi-" she began
Her foggy brain that was paralyzed from fear and the unknown cleared up as the pieces began to fit together.
She sighed, "I...I believe Pioneer Blake is one of the attackers and he is heading to the Research area. He said that their was an intel of terrorist arriving there."
Arthur nodded, "I'll inform the McVon family and the rest of you advance. Perhaps its just a misunderstanding"
Xavier arrived on scene with his mother and the quietly follow. They saw a woman fiddling with the wires of the electronic lock to the Research Labs and Blake lying eagle spread on the floor looking through some papers.
"Did Vladimir say what the code to the door is? If they're going to use me, they should do it well!" Blake whined
Donovan smiled, "Please reach human being status first."
"I'm almost in. Don't be a baby, Recruit." Delphine laughed
Blake frowned, "Do you not understand how convenient and fast portals are? I can use them to swim the ocean, get back before work at 8am and still be early."
Blake sliced the ground near where his brother and the rest were hiding. The bear twins cracked their necks in preparation for a fight while Delphine continued her task.
"Did you have to go so far, Tiny Twister?" Lesia asked with a pained voice "I'll find a way yo squeeze out the answers you seek from your father."
Blake smiled bitterly, "It hasn't been working all these years though, I've found a new way and I'll take the weight of my choice. Although the entrance exam into the Nox family is challenging."
"I'm in!" Delphine smirked
Blake snorted, "You've been stalling on purpose."
"There's no evidence to back up your claim but you are still allowed to register your complain to the Head of the Family." she smiled
Blake jumped backward as the bear twins made a barrier before the Pioneers could respond. The rushed into the Lab and saw various glass windows that displaced the experiments within. He found the door with the core and retreated away as the door exploded.
A woman was in view with a white lab coat, she smiled kindly but the madness in her eyes was too thick to mask.
"This has Vladimir's heartless hands all of it." She smiled "But you see this core is my life's work so I can't give it over."
Dmitri asked, "You know him?"
"I can't really tell you the details but we do. I'm Julia von Frey, a researcher from Nex-U Cooperation, are you willing to switch sides?" She asked
Blake chuckled, "I'm so famous lately, I didn't know I had so many fans."
"I'll just take you, Vladimir will be unhappy but might not come for you." Julia laughed
Several explosions erupted around him and Julia was in front of him with her outstretched hand was coming for him. He made thousand blades thrust out of his skin and forced the crazy being disguised as a human to retreat.
Blake held his neck with fearful expression and doubted his life choices for a moment before killing the thoughts. He made this decision and he will see it through even if he person he become scares him more than anything his father would ever do.
His right arm turned into a red blade and he sliced the door with the core inside. He witness Julia's face twist into indescribable rage and explosions denoted everywhere. Delphine rushed in and grabbed the core with connected to various machines.
Blake threw his body in front of the woman and received most of the attack sent. His right arm was burnt, brought down his right arm-blade and a red line extended everywhere. It cut up all the experiment booth, even dug into the wall and the building began to tilt.
Julia explosions came again and Blake widen his blade to make a shield. The bear twins came in with their barriers.
"DO YOU THINK THIS IS ALL?!" Julia roared
The explosions became bigger and more violent pushing them back. Julia would appear around he barrier and bash it with her fists with the determination of an enraged missile.
"Is this my life now?" Blake said soullessly
Donovan frowned, "We're being pushed back."
Blake whispered, "Let her."
He pulled everyone out of the window and the wind rushed up. Blake felt his blood pumped loudly in his throat and looked up at Julia falling after. The young man crushed a crystal, a portal engulfed them and closed after them.
They crashed on a table and cards scattered everywhere. The brothers looked down at them and Vladimir dropped water over their flaming clothes.
"What do you all have against us playing cards? Let's do checkers, Vlad." Valentine sighed
Blake coughed, "Julia sends her regards."
"We don't remember her name but we still know she doesn't like us." Vladimir laughed
Delphine presented the core and their eyes widen in surprise. Valentine even dropped the checkers set, grabbed the core and examined it with wonder.
"The hag let you just waltz out with this?!" The younger brother exclaimed "She's lost her touch."
Vladimir nodded, "This is the beginning of a wonderful relationship. Any regrets, Blake Nox?"
"None." Blake lied
Valentine laughed, "Welcome to the family. We'll get you a guard and find your own subordinates from the fresh recruits."
"Yes, Boss." Blake answered as he walked out of the room
He sucked in a breathe of air and looked at his phone piled up with messages. Blake called a servant and handed it over to him.
He ordered, "Destroy it and get me a new one along with the applications of new recruits."
"Yes, sir." The servant bowed and left
Blake sighed, "My life....."
The brothers began a checkers match
"The distraction finished before it could fulfill its purpose. Should we tell Killian?" a voice from an orb asked
Vladimir smiled, "Nah, life is unpredictable. He wants to prove himself so what better conditions than this?"
"Heartless creature." Valentine laughed
At that time Killian was looking at a news which showed a view of Blake disappearing. The large man laughed heartily watching.
"Did you see that?! That's my younger brother over there!" He boosted
A woman asked, "The distraction failed, shouldn't you be more worry about proving yourself to the Heads?"
"Don't worry too much, I'll still manage." Kilian looked outside toward the resort decorated in gold "Now be nice."
Several men followed him with weapons hidden in their clothes.
"Booking for Blackwolf Industries....why we're here? Company Vacation. my name is Robert, I managed to become a manager. We've heard wonderful things about Elixir Spa and Resort, can't wait to enjoy ourselves." Killian smiled
