Crown Prince Rain and his supposed bride returned to their room. His wing was decorated beautifully; everything was well handled, and he knew just who could have done so.
By the entrance, Kebel stood with a bowl of freshly boiled soup on a tray. He did not wait to be ushered in; he walked in like he was familiar with the place.
Rain smiled, and Caelan's eyes squinted. He did not know the relationship they shared, but something about it seemed off.
"I brought this; the weather has been cold and it is good for his legs."
Rain did not inspect it like he had done every meal that had been brought for Caelan on their journey. He grabbed the bowl and squatted down before Caelan. Caelan's nose flared, but Rain ignored it and blew the soup before forcing it down his throat. It wasn't until the bowl was completely empty that Rain retrieved it.
