The guests held their breath; even the hall seemed not to welcome the wind. The king's gaze flickered around, but not even his elders dared breathe loud enough to be noticed. The terror in the eyes of the guests couldn't be masked.
Prince Rhett knelt unwillingly, his body trembling under invisible pressure. Even with his alpha pheromones, he couldn't pull himself up.
Rain strolled closer slowly, his steps echoing like a deathline countdown. One hand was in his pocket, and the other waved a fan casually, as if the air were hot, whereas the opposite was the case. Nobles stepped back; even those outside subconsciously distanced themselves from the mad crown prince. The further the distance, the better.
The room temperature dropped by the minute. Rain pulled out a chair and sat before Rhett.
"Rain… what game are you playing? " Cassian growled.
Rain's lips curled.
"Game…" he whispered, then his gaze snapped to the king.
