The hall emptied, and the silence left behind was heavier, even for the curtains to whisper. The word on everyone's lips was that the crown prince had gone mad… he is no longer controllable. The words circulated amongst the nobles.
"He is beyond saving…" a peasant muttered.
But within the palace, a more disturbing version was spreading at an alarming rate. The crown prince has gone wild and can no longer be tamed," the servants whispered, the guards murmured, and even the other princes confirmed the rumor.
As Rain and Caelan walked through the quiet hallway leading to their now shared wing, Caelan's mind was only on one thing: the White Vixan stone. Deep down, he knew what was required. He had made up his mind, but the truth was a bitter pill to swallow.
As they walked in, Rain was first to enter the bathroom. He freshened up and ran a hot bath for Caelan.
"I will call Idris over," Rain said as he turned to leave, but Caelan held his hand.
