The wedding hall emptied slowly. By the time the hand of the clock struck eight, the hall was filled with only Rain's men, Selene, Vegas, Rowan, and the elders, with a few pack members hovering around the hall, though they dared not enter again. The guests had scrambled their way home.
Even some nobles couldn't help but ponder how a man… a crippled man, could have kept them all kneeling for hours with no explanation, no remorse.
The guests were shaken. The pack was trembling from the outburst and the unexpected change of events at the royal wedding. What they had expected to be a humiliation for the alpha's elder brother flipped so quickly that they hadn't seen it coming.
From the corner, Vegas's crew watched the partying groom with hate burning in their eyes, their fists clenched, and their jaws tightened. They didn't drink or eat anything, but as ordered, they weren't allowed to leave.
