Kaden remembered what Soren told him to do in the car. He put his hands over his ears and closed his eyes tight, wishing it would all stop soon.


Kaden jolted a little when he heard something metal hit the ground nearby. It was the shiny snake brooch. It must have fallen off the bad guy while Soren was punching him. Without thinking, Kaden grabbed the snake brooch and quickly hid it in his pocket.
