"MR. SOREEENNN!!!!"
Kaden's screech echoed through the quarters as he launched himself at the man now sitting on the bed. Soren caught the boy, patting his back awkwardly, plainly unused to children clinging to him. Kaden's arms clung tightly around Soren's shoulders, refusing to let go.
"Kaden, you're pressing against Soren's wound," Roseanne gently reminded him.
Kaden recoiled at once. "Aahh! I'm sorry, Mr. Soren!"
Soren smiled lightly. "It's alright. It doesn't hurt."
They were gathered in Soren's bedroom and David stood by the door. When they'd arrived, Frederic was already there seated on the sofa and absorbed in something on his tablet. Roseanne kept forgetting Frederic was actually a secretary for Romano Enterprises, not just another member of the syndicate.
She stepped forward, bowing her head slightly with a grateful smile. "Thank you for protecting my son. He hasn't stopped talking about you since yesterday. Thank you, Soren."
