She had arrived earlier, accompanied by Frederic, David, and Czar's driver, while Czar stayed behind to handle the aftermath. Now he stepped inside, taking off his gloves, and Roseanne trailed after him.
She was genuinely grateful that Czar had taken the situation seriously, mobilizing every resource at his disposal to find Kaden, something she had doubted he would do.
The sharp, coppery scent of blood clung to him on his coat, his shoes, and especially his gloves. Roseanne realized, not for the first time, why people in the syndicate favored black clothing; it hid the telltale stains from nights like this. She shuddered to think what it would look like if they wore lighter colors.
