The great detective said the first rule when you get kidnapped is: don't panic.
But Soren was bleeding and unconscious!
How could he not panic?
They sat side by side, hands tied tightly behind their backs, cloths gagging their mouths so they couldn't speak. Their ankles were bound as well, making escape impossible.
Kaden bit down on the cloth trying to be brave, but his eyes began to fill with tears. He looked at Soren again. The blood dripped slowly from the right side of Soren's stomach.
He swallowed. It looked bad.
Kaden glanced around the room. Not far from where he and Soren sat, the bad guys lounged on chairs, talking among themselves. They laughed and smoked, completely at ease.
There were a lot of them. Kaden tried to count.
One… two… many.
More than ten.
Most of them were hurt. Some had bruises, some held their sides, and some had blood on their clothes. It looked like they got hurt when they fought Soren earlier.
"…okay wearing that?"
