"Come on, Maria. I'll take you home."
"But my house is far from here and I only have—" I stopped as soon as I saw that there's another bike beside mine.
"Don't worry. I have my own." and he walked towards our bikes then made them stand. With his hands of course. I am still dumbfounded.
"Of course you are." What? Oh, right. He can read minds. And I walk towards him.
"Aren't you going to ask how I can read minds?" he asked as I took my bike from him. "Nah. You do you." I answered and then I hopped on my bike and went down from the cliff slowly. This is just a dream. "Yeshua, right?" I asked as I kept on slowing down. "Yes, I am." he answered with a small smile on his lips.
"What did you do to me back on the edge of the cliff? My body was, I don't know. Frightened. Scared. Shivering when our eyes met." I asked him as we kept on carefully going down the cliff. This cliff is — I'm guessing 30-story buildings high. So it is a long way down. "I redeemed you. Demons have a hold on your body and are going to end your breath. The dove stopped it."
"What does a dove have to do with it when it actually is just a dove?" I remarked. I'm getting kind of pissed off about it.
"Is it, really?"
"Is it really what?"
"Just a dove?" I looked at him pissed off and shook off his question. "You said demons have a hold on my body. I don't believe in demons."
"And you just said that there is no God."
I abruptly stopped and he stopped as well. What did he just say? How did he know? Yes, he's reading my mind right now but — wait, are you already at the cliff when I told myself the answer to my question? But our bikes were laying side by side by the grass before we went down. I'm pretty sure I was the only one on the cliff. How could it be?
"There is a reason why I am here. But, if you don't believe the One who sent me, how can you believe me?" and that statement took me aback. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding." Oh, I definitely heard this from somewhere!
"Of course, you heard it in the church, Maria." he giggled after saying it, making me look at him. My mind went blank. There's a warm feeling growing on my chest. He feels like home."Shall we continue?" I nodded as an answer and began bicycling again. And so is he.
"Yeshua?"
"Yes?"
"Are you serving in our church?"
"For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."
"As a ransom for our sins."
"Yes. You are learning, Maria. And I will be with you in every step of your way."
