"Maria, look at me. Focus on me, Maria."
And so I did. I looked at him and tried to focus on him. After a few seconds, I took a tiny step forward. And another. And another. And another, until I saw him smile and raised his arms as if he was welcoming me. Without any hesitation, my body ran towards him and hugged him. He hugged me back.
"Hush now, little one. You are safe."
I didn't even know that I was crying until he pointed it out. When I came back to my senses, I pulled away from the hug. I looked at him from head to toe, wiped my tears off my cheeks then stared at his eyes. At his hazel brown eyes. Wait, no. Green eyes. Green?
"Who are you? Why are you here? How did you know that I am here?" I asked while still staring at his eyes but it became dark now so it's hard to see the color of his eyes. He giggled. What? Why are you giggling? Is there something funny with what I asked?
"I am Yeshua. I am here for you. And a dove told me where you are." he answered while smiling at me. Dove?
"A dove told you where I am?" I asked unbelievably. Confusedly. Puzzled. Okay, honestly I don't know the word anymore. One thing's for sure. I don't understand what is happening right now.
"In time you will."
"In time I will what?"
"You will understand."
"Understand what?" and he just giggled again. What is wrong with him? Am I a joke to him? I almos-
"No. You are not a joke to me, Maria." There he goes again! How did he know my name?!
"Aren't you going to ask first as to how I answered your question?"
"What question?"
He giggled. "You are like a sheep," now I'm like a sheep? What is wrong with you? I am not a sheep! Sure, there are times I'm kinda dumb but I am not a sheep! But sheep are cute. And I am cute. Okay, I'll let it pass this one time. And he burst out laughing.
"Hey! What is wrong with you?! You said I am like a sheep then you suddenly burst out laughing! Are you mad?!" I crashed out. Oh, boy. This is not my day.
"People actually ask me that question. And it's now evening actually. Just in case you haven't noticed." he said after laughing. And boom! It hit me like a truck.
"You are reading my mind! You are reading my mind aren't you?!" I asked him as I pointed my finger at him while looking at him with wide eyes. He did, didn't he. He has been reading my mind all this time! If you are actually reading my mind right now, you'll tell me that my favorite color is purple because I said so in my mind.
"Your favorite color is purple."
"Oh my god!"
"Don't use Adonai, your God's name, in vain! It is one of the commandments [Exodus 20:1-18 & Deuteronomy 5:5-22] that our Father has written in stones with His fingers and is brought down by Moses from Mount Sinai! Haven't you been reading your Bible?" I shook my head as an answer to his question while I'm still looking at him with eyes wide open. He planted his face in both of his hands and sighed deeply.
"What is 'Adonai'?" Yeshua removed his hands on his face then looked at me. "Adonai is the Hebrew word for 'The Lord'," answered Yeshua with a soft smile on his face.
