Third-person POV
Dan tried his best, but it seemed that it was slow, and Karolo's body was still cold. "I…I can't!!" Dan's voice crackled. "The Deathcaller magic is too powerful to be dispelled!"
Vanda and Eun-woo were saddened by it.
"Hey, brother…" Vanda said to Dan in response, "…I don't want to be in the Deathcaller Order anymore. I want to live a normal life and perhaps, find a way to pay for this Otherworlder kid's stuff…"
Eun-woo then nodded. "Yeah, I thought of the same thing, my masters (Because in the Order of the Deathcallers, there was a hierarchy). I wanted to live a normal life."
Dan then nodded. "Yeah, guys, let's fight our Order."
And then, with 52 minutes left for Karolo's soul to return from the Realm of Comfort, and the body of Karolo was slow at healing itself during that one-hour window time, footsteps sounded from the basement, and a couple came down for cover from the battle noise and debris of the fight between the Steein soldiers and the Deathcaller Order. They were taken aback when they saw the enemies that took part in the destruction of their city. They were also stunned to see a body on the dirty velvet carpet.
"W-What happened here?" the man, a tech blacksmith named Cristostòm Clemente, asked.
His wife Sofia was in tears to see Karolo's state of his body.
Dan, Vanda, and Eun-woo then looked at them.
"Don't worry, we won't hurt any of you…"
"We're sorry for what we had done to your city."
"We're withdrawing from the Deathcaller Order…"
Cristostòm and Sofia were stunned to hear that.
Seeing Cristostòm's blacksmith uniform as a tech blacksmith (a kind of blacksmith that specializes in repairing tech like laptops, phones, and guns), Vanda went to him, carrying Karolo's broken laptop. "Are you a tech blacksmith?"
"Y-Yes?" the tech blacksmith replied back while stammering.
"Please fix this…!" Vanda handed the laptop to him. "I'll pay the fee for it…!"
Vanda teared up as Eun-woo comforted her.
Glancing at the broken laptop that had a hole punched through, Cristostòm felt bad for Vanda. "What happened to this?"
"I…I was the one who broke it…" Vanda's voice crackled, devoid of malice and hostility she once displayed in the Deathcaller Order. "…I broke it when I stabbed the boy's back and his backpack on it…!"
At the same time, Cristostòm sat down to fix up the laptop with his toolbox of tools of a tech blacksmith. Dan thought of one thing that would save Karolo's body: a very rare healing technique known as Healing of Repentance. That S-ranked ability guaranteed healing of one's body from any affliction (both external and internal), but it had a catch: one who did this technique would be under 1 week of indebtedness to the victim/patient.
Dan decided to use that just to bring back Karolo's body back from the abyss of death.
