Third-person POV
Karolo was stunned when Tomas said that to him, but he got up and grabbed the green bottle of the cold soft-drink and took a sip of it. This refreshes his soul and body. "Wow, salamat, Tomas."
Tomas gave a warm smile. "You're welcome. By the way, you had been stabbed by a Deathcaller and blacked out."
"What? A Deathcaller…?"
"Yes, Karolo, it is a figure who brings death to anyone. Also, a second one shot you in the head. But don't worry, 1 hour later, you'll be returned to that life of yours once your body heals itself back."
"Wow…"
And then, as the pair settled down at the veranda of a bahay-kubo, which was next to an OFW-type family home, they heard a series of voices coming from the above.
"Please…forgive us, kid…?"
"We realized what we had been doing was wrong…"
"So sorry, kiddo…!"
They can also can hear crying from these 3 voices.
"Wait, are they the ones who struck me down?" Karolo asked.
"It seemed so…" Tomas replied back while munching on a Fita Cracker.
"Woah…"
Back in the battlefields of Darkhtan, in the dark basement of an abandoned noble château, Dan and Vanda, alongside a low-ranking OD masked guard named Eun-woo Bardales, were in front of an unconscious and "dead" Karolo while weeping for him and regretting their actions and lives as members of the OD. Dan was trying to heal the body and tried to dispel the Deathcaller magic that was rotting it with his healing magic (he had that as a natural ability from birth) while his younger sister Vanda and Eun-woo was in tears.
"I cannot forgive myself for this…" Vanda sobbed into the grey and black sleeves of her Deathcaller attire.
She glanced at the black sigil of being a Deathcaller on the back of her right hand: a black dragon with a reaper crossing over the dragon on a diagonal position.
It seemed that she and Dan regretted their life choices to join the dark side.
Eun-woo was holding Karolo's backpack that had the pierced hole through the body of it. Karolo's laptop and a few notebooks had been pierced through when Vanda stabbed Karolo on the back with her sword, rendering the laptop useless. Vanda looked at it with teary eyes and muttered, "I'll pay for that…the kid's precious stuff…I don't care how many quest contracts I'll take to pay for it or how hard it was to search for a tech blacksmith to have it fixed, I just wanted to fix it…"
