Jin woke up feeling like someone had beaten him to death and dragged him back halfway.
His ribs burned every time he breathed. His muscles felt tight and heavy, like they had been pulled apart and stitched back together, and his head pounded hard enough that opening his eyes immediately felt like a mistake.
The fluorescent lights above him blurred for a second before slowly coming into focus.
A cracked ceiling….
Water stains….
He could hear a faint humming sound somewhere nearby.
Where am I….
Jin tried moving instinctively and immediately felt resistance.
His hands were restrained, which made his chest go tight immediately.
Was he captured by the enemy?
Did they lose the fight?
What happened to the others?
Jin's breathing picked up slightly as he pulled harder against the restraints before a voice beside him cut through the haze.
"Relax."
Jin turned sharply toward the sound.
