The station felt different the moment Jin stepped out of the med bay.
The police station had always seemed organized compared to the chaos outside, but now it felt like an actual functioning stronghold rather than a desperate shelter trying to survive another night.
The lights overhead were brighter than before, no longer flickering constantly like they were dying. Sections of the walls that used to be cracked open had been reinforced with thick steel plating and fresh concrete. Supply crates were stacked neatly against marked sections of the station instead of being thrown together wherever people found room.
People moved with purpose now.
Some survivors sorted medical supplies near the front desks while others carried reinforced barricade pieces through the halls under officer supervision. The station buzzed with quiet activity, the kind that only existed when people finally stopped panicking and started building something.
