*Ring, ring, ring~~*
My alarm always jolted me awake at precisely five in the morning, its loud, piercing noise is a signal to the start of a new day. In normal days, I'd rise feeling rested and energized, ready to face whatever lay ahead. But not today.
I woke up drenched in sweat, my pillow soaked as I struggled to catch my breath. Its been weeks now with the same nightmare that haunted me relentlessly—visions of fighting just to escape that place and against that unforgiving moment. Seeing myself running desperately from a collapsing building, the deafening screams echoing in my ears, it was too much. And the memory where I watched helplessly as one of my closest comrades was torn to pieces right before me—her eyes popping from their sockets, brain matter splattering all over me.
