SAINT
Our wedding reception was held in my moms mansion. People were buzzing around like bees and elite guests were there as well.
Some of the most influential and brutal men were here and they would see my wife. It wasn't supposed to be Evadne beneath that veil. She is not cut off for my world.
People here only cared about one thing, to see the woman I had married, to find my weakness, to study her, to ensure they know their opponent. Evadne was in danger now, Esmeralda was fit for the role of being my wife. We loved each other but I guess I'm starting to doubt that, I don't understand why Esmeralda would elope though. She could have told me she wasn't ready but she didn't. Would Evadne really lie?
I'd sent my bodyguard to go get her after I left her alone in that room. I hate her for what she did but I can't risk my enemies kidnapping my bride on our wedding day. Whether I liked it or not she was my wife now. It's my duty to protect her.
Everyone here was not to be trusted, they were all snakes yet here they were under my roof socializing, congratulating me and anticipating my wife's arrival. Mom didn't seem upset about this as much as I did.
Viola,"Saint Clarence Zyraelle, finally married."
I hate when I have to socialize with 'distant relatives', especially when they are associated with my grandparents. If Viola was here it means uncle Ian was here too.
"How are you doing aunt Viola hasn't seen you in a while, I wasn't expecting to see you here."
Viola,"of course you didn't,be careful Saint. The only thing protecting you is evelynne but she is not strong enough for the mafia. Evanora was best fitted for this but your mother killed her. "
"My mother is capable. She can protect me and I can protect myself too."
Viola," Evelynne couldn't protect you when you were 10, what makes you think she can hold on any longer. The bride you married is not the actual bride I know. But this bride is weak and soon everyone in this room will figure it out. Tell Evelynne that there's no place for weakness. Evanora had no weaknesses, your mom has a lot of them. Be careful Clarence."
Viola smiled gently at me and left.
I thought about her words and maybe she was right. I don't know my grandmother but no one could ever take her down. At least not her enemies, if mom had not taken her down, we would have a normal life but now all we have is blood on our hands and dark secrets.
Suddenly the room went quiet and everyone's attention was on the staircase. I turned around to look at what had them so quiet and there she was, walking down the stairs.
I didn't think that moms last minute choice of attire would look like it was planned for years. The emerald jewelry set she had on her, the dark green silk dress that clung to her body so perfectly highlighting her curves.
She looked breathtaking.
The guests divided themselves into two leaving a pathway for Evadne to come to me. She walked gracefully to me and smiled. The rest of the evening dragged out slowly.Everyone had left by midnight. Ivan came back home after the event but mom was already sleeping. He didn't even attend my wedding. I'm not really shocked, Ivan never really liked me even though he didn't say it to my face.
I went to my room after drinking a few shots of whiskey to clear my mind but they didn't help.
The door to my room was wide open when I got there.
Evadne stepped out of the shower at that very moment and she was limping. Her hair was wet but that's not what caught my attention. Her cheek was swollen where I had slapped her. There were also marks left probably from my hands.
"Remove the towel Evadne."
She looked at me as though I was an alien. Her hands held on to her towel as if that would do her any good. I closed the door and locked it before going to my closet. After rampaging through the closet I found what I was looking for.
Evadne was still rooted at the spot she was standing in when I left.
Evadne," I'm sorry Saint."
I ignored her apology and grabbed her by the arm before throwing her on the bed.
"No act of betrayal goes unpunished my little bird."
She tried getting up to get away but I pulled her back and bent her over securing the handcuffs on her wrists then forcing the gag into her mouth.
I threw the towel away, she was bare beneath me, at my mercy, I raised the whip in my hand and hit her.
One.
I remembered the time when Alex cradled her in his arms.
Two.
When she asked me to fuck her and her lying cunt squeezed my dick, how I was balls deep and at that moment she was my slut.
Three.
When she asked my mother to quit the job.
Four.
The moment I got to know she was in a relationship with Angelo.
Five.
Angelo's hands on her waist. The way he held her like a feather and treated her like an egg.
Six.
All the late night shift's she had and Angelo waiting for her like he had all the time in the world.
Seven.
The day Angelo publicly announced their relationship and promised to marry her some day.
Eight.
The way she smiled at him as if she knew no one else.
Nine.
The moment she walked down the aisle instead of Esmeralda.
Ten.
When the veil lifted and I had the wrong bride.
I vented all my anger on her perfect little body, every single moment when I wanted to punish her but couldn't do it. Now she was all mine to torture until I found Esmeralda and when I find her I will kill her myself for her betrayal, for the humiliation and for her lies.
Evadne's muffled sobs were like music to my ears, I'm sure her pretty little face was smeared with her tears. I knew it was enough, too much but the beast in me was unleashed and it knew that Evadne would feed on any scraps of food I gave to her.
It knew that if Esmeralda could leave Evadne would never leave. She was mine to ruin,to break and I had all the right to destroy her soul and clip off her wings.
