⚔️ INSIDE THE ARENA
The creature didn't move.
Not because it couldn't.
Because it was waiting.
Eryx stood frozen in front of it, breath uneven, mind burning with fragments that didn't belong to him.
Flashes.
Fights.
Deaths.
Different endings.
All his.
Jaxon's voice cut through the tension.
"Move, Eryx!"
But Eryx didn't.
Because for the first time—
He understood something.
"This isn't a fight…" he whispered.
The creature tilted its head slightly.
As if acknowledging him.
Mira stepped forward urgently. "Eryx, don't—"
But he raised a hand.
Stopping her.
Jaxon's grip tightened on his weapon.
"This is exactly what it wants!"
Eryx shook his head slowly.
"No…"
A pause.
"This is what it's been waiting for."
The creature took a step closer.
The ground cracked slightly beneath its weight.
And then—
The system voice returned.
Clear this time.
Cold.
"Outcome evaluation… in progress."
Jaxon's eyes widened slightly.
"…It's not attacking."
Soren spoke calmly from behind them.
"Because it already has."
Eryx felt it.
Not physically.
Mentally.
The memories weren't random anymore.
They were aligning.
He saw himself—
Running.
Failing.
Dying too early.
Dying too late.
Choosing wrong.
Hesitating.
And then—
One version.
Standing.
Like now.
Eryx exhaled slowly.
"…You're not here to kill me."
The creature didn't move.
"…You're here to see what I choose."
Silence.
Heavy.
Confirming.
Jaxon whispered under his breath.
"…That's not how this works."
Soren corrected him.
"It is now."
🔥 OUTSIDE — THE RED GATE
Meanwhile—
Mira wasn't in the arena anymore.
The moment the system shifted—
She had been separated.
Thrown back.
Into the gate corridor.
The Red Gate stood open.
Wider than before.
Darkness pouring out like something alive.
And monsters—
More than before—
Were entering.
Mira stumbled back, breathing hard.
"Where's everyone—?!"
No answer.
She looked around quickly.
Weapons.
Gone.
Empty racks.
Nothing left.
A creature lunged.
She dodged barely, slamming into the wall.
Pain shot through her shoulder.
"Damn it…!"
Her eyes snapped toward the gate seats.
The chairs.
Still there.
Students sitting.
Still.
Silent.
Mira ran toward them.
"You—hey! Do you have a weapon?!"
No response.
She grabbed one of them.
"Give me a gun!"
The student didn't react.
Didn't blink.
Didn't even seem aware she was there.
Mira stepped back slowly.
"They don't even have anything…"
A growl echoed behind her.
Closer.
She turned—
Too late.
A monster lunged—
BANG.
The creature dropped instantly.
Mira froze.
A figure stood a few steps away.
Gun still raised.
Calm.
Unshaken.
"Looking for this?" he said.
He tossed the weapon toward her.
Mira caught it instinctively.
"Who are you?" she asked.
The boy stepped into the dim light.
Sharp eyes.
Unfamiliar.
But not new to this place.
"Ashar," he said.
Mira steadied her grip on the gun.
"You just saved me."
Ashar shrugged slightly.
"Don't thank me yet."
A pause.
"You're already late."
Mira frowned. "Late for what?"
Ashar's gaze shifted toward the open gate.
Then back to her.
"For his outcome."
Mira's heart dropped.
"…Eryx."
Ashar nodded once.
"You should hurry."
⚔️ BACK TO THE ARENA
Eryx stepped forward.
Closer to the creature.
Jaxon shouted, "STOP—!"
But Soren didn't move.
Because he already knew.
Eryx raised his hand slowly.
The creature didn't attack.
Didn't resist.
It waited.
"…Every version of me failed you," Eryx said quietly.
The creature remained still.
"…So you're testing if I'll do the same."
The system voice responded.
"Incorrect."
Eryx froze.
"You are not being tested."
A pause.
"You are being finalized."
Jaxon's eyes widened.
"…No."
Soren smiled faintly.
"…There it is."
💀 IRREVERSIBLE MOMENT
The creature moved.
Fast.
But not toward Eryx.
Toward Jaxon.
Everything happened in a second.
Impact.
Jaxon was thrown back violently.
Crashing into the wall.
Mira wasn't there.
Eryx was too far.
Blood hit the floor.
Silence.
Eryx's breath stopped.
"…Jaxon?"
Jaxon tried to move.
Didn't.
Soren didn't step forward.
Didn't react.
Because he understood.
"This isn't a kill," Soren said quietly.
A pause.
"It's a replacement."
Eryx turned sharply. "WHAT?!"
The system voice confirmed it.
"Non-compatible unit removed."
Eryx felt rage hit him instantly.
"You don't get to decide that!"
The creature turned back to him.
And for the first time—
It reacted.
🧠 COMPLETION REVEAL
"Completion requires stability."
Eryx stepped forward.
"No."
"Completion requires adaptation."
He clenched his fists.
"I'm not your system."
The creature moved closer again.
"You are beyond system."
Silence.
Even Soren's expression shifted slightly.
"You are divergence."
Eryx's breath slowed.
"…Then I choose."
A pause.
"…my own outcome."
The creature stopped.
Completely.
And for the first time—
The system hesitated.
💥 FINAL SHIFT
The lights flickered violently.
The arena began collapsing.
The system voice glitched.
"Outcome… unstable…"
"Recalculating…"
Soren stepped back slowly.
"…You broke the sequence."
Eryx stood still.
Breathing hard.
"…No."
A pause.
"I changed it."
⚡ END SCENE
Outside—
Mira ran through the corridor.
Gun in hand.
Ashar following behind.
"Where is he?!" she shouted.
Ashar didn't answer immediately.
Then said:
"Somewhere he wasn't supposed to survive."
