Chapter 8 - CHAPTER 8

c8: The Cleanup Operation

Broly sat quietly on the sofa, his brows slightly furrowed as he thought things through.

Even for him, this problem wasn't simple.

If a parasite chose not to reveal itself, then on the surface, it would be indistinguishable from a normal human being. There would be no visible flaws, no obvious aura, nothing that could be sensed directly, at least not with his current level of control over his Saiyan instincts.

Although he possessed a combat power far beyond ordinary humans already reaching around 10,000 since birth, his ability to finely perceive subtle differences in life forms was still undeveloped. Unlike seasoned martial artists who could sense ki with precision, Broly hadn't yet received proper training in that aspect.

He leaned back slightly, his expression thoughtful.

The lives of the people in this world had nothing to do with him. Strictly speaking, this was just a mission.

But even so, he wasn't someone who could casually slaughter innocent people.

He had grown up in a peaceful environment in his previous life, with a clear understanding of right and wrong. Even now, with Saiyan blood flowing through his veins, that part of him hadn't disappeared.

If he resorted to indiscriminate killing just to complete the mission, it would cross a line he wasn't willing to cross.

More importantly…

He glanced subtly toward the bathroom, where Su Xiaoyou had just finished washing up.

And then toward Naruto, who was still sitting beside him.

Based on their personalities, if he did something like that, it would definitely create a rift between them.

That would only make things worse.

From the interactions in the group chat and their actions earlier, Broly already had a general understanding of them.

Su Xiaoyou might seem a bit naïve at times, but she wasn't weak-hearted. When facing enemies, she was decisive and ruthless just like how she had smashed the parasite's head without hesitation.

That kind of mindset, Broly actually appreciated.

As long as someone wasn't blindly compassionate to the point of foolishness, cooperation was possible.

As for Naruto…

Broly shifted his gaze toward him.

Naruto had grown up in a harsh environment, ostracized by the villagers of Konoha, yet he still chose to protect others rather than fall into darkness.

That kind of willpower was rare.

But it also meant one thing, Naruto would never accept meaningless slaughter.

So the idea of rushing into a crowd and attacking indiscriminately was completely out of the question.

Broly exhaled lightly.

Right now, the only option was to carefully recall the details he might have missed from the original storyline.

There had to be a way.

Beside him, Naruto was completely absorbed in the television, holding the remote control with great interest.

Although the ninja world he came from didn't have such technology, after participating in several cross-world missions, he had already learned how to operate modern devices.

At that moment, the bathroom door opened.

Su Xiaoyou walked out, her hair still slightly damp, a towel draped casually over her shoulders.

Noticing Broly's expression, she walked over and sat down beside him naturally.

"What's wrong?" she asked, tilting her head slightly. "You look like you're thinking about something serious."

Broly came back to his senses and glanced at her.

"It's nothing major," he said calmly. "I was just thinking about how to identify parasites in a crowd. If they deliberately hide, they're almost impossible to detect."

He paused briefly before continuing, "If we can't find them efficiently, completing the mission of eliminating 200 parasites within a week will be difficult."

Hearing this, Su Xiaoyou blinked her clear eyes, then suddenly revealed a confident expression.

"Ah, that? You don't need to worry about it."

She crossed her arms slightly, looking rather pleased with herself.

"I finished reading the Parasyte manga carefully before coming here."

"There's a scene where a teacher who was taken over by a parasite hides inside a school. A student secretly plucks one of his hairs… and discovers that it moves on its own."

"At that moment, the parasite realizes it's been exposed and immediately starts attacking the students. In the end, someone uses acid to stop it."

She paused for emphasis before concluding,

"So the key point is hair from a parasitized human is alive. As long as you pull out a strand, you can tell whether someone is a parasite or not."

Hearing this, Broly turned his head and gave her a long, thoughtful look.

He hadn't expected her to prepare this thoroughly.

So she had already gathered intelligence before arriving.

It seemed this Group Admin wasn't as simple or as naïve as he had initially assumed.

There was indeed such a scene in the manga.

It was just that too much time had passed, and he hadn't paid enough attention to that detail.

Now that he knew this method, the situation changed completely.

Identifying targets would no longer be the main obstacle.

Which meant…

The real hunt could begin.

Broly pondered for a moment, his brows relaxing slightly as a rough plan quickly formed in his mind.

"Sister Su Xiaoyou, Brother Naruto, I have an idea. What do you think?"

He spoke calmly, organizing his thoughts with surprising clarity for someone who had only recently begun fighting.

"Brother Naruto can use the Shadow Clone Technique to create a large number of clones and spread them across the city to investigate. Once a parasite is confirmed, you can send the location in the group chat."

He paused briefly, then continued,

"I'll head over immediately and deal with it. With my current strength, I should be able to eliminate them quickly, one strike is enough."

Broly had already verified this in the previous battle. Even without transforming into a Super Saiyan or releasing his full power, his base strength already comparable to low-tier elite Saiyan warriors was more than enough to crush organisms at this level.

"For targets," he added, "prioritize people in positions of influence police officers, doctors, teachers, lawyers…"

"These roles give parasites better access to information and resources, making infiltration more efficient."

He then narrowed his eyes slightly, recalling details from the manga.

"Also, pay attention to households where only one person lives. That individual is highly likely to be a parasite."

"When parasites first take over a host, their primary instinct is feeding. They often eliminate the host's family without hesitation."

"And…"

Broly's tone grew more serious.

"I suspect that the parasites have already begun infiltrating the higher levels of this society. It's possible that a large portion of the system is already under their control."

After listening to his analysis, Su Xiaoyou's expression became more focused.

She had to admit, this plan was logical and efficient.

She turned to Naruto.

"Naruto, what do you think?"

Naruto didn't hesitate at all.

"Of course! No problem!" he said enthusiastically.

Immediately, he formed hand seals.

"Shadow Clone Technique!"

In an instant, the room was filled with Narutos. One after another, clones appeared until the space could barely contain them.

Without wasting time, they rushed toward the windows and leapt out in waves, spreading across the city of Kobe like a net being cast.

Each clone quickly began its mission.

When entering buildings, they used the Transformation Technique to disguise themselves as small animals mice, birds, or other inconspicuous creatures to avoid suspicion.

After approaching a target, they would cancel the transformation, act quickly, and pluck a strand of hair for verification.

Special attention was given to isolated individuals, just as Broly had suggested.

Back in the room, Su Xiaoyou and Broly waited for updates.

Before long, the first confirmed location appeared in the group chat sent by one of Naruto's clones.

Su Xiaoyou immediately stood up, ready to act.

But just as she was about to leave, Broly reached out and stopped her.

"Sister Xiaoyou, I can handle this alone. You should stay here and rest."

Su Xiaoyou froze for a moment, then her expression changed.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

She crossed her arms, clearly dissatisfied.

"Are you looking down on me?"

"I can deal with a parasite myself. Didn't you see earlier? That one on the street, I took it down with a single strike."

Her tone carried a hint of pride, but also determination.

As someone trained in a martial arts academy, she had her own sense of self-worth.

If she simply stayed behind and let others do all the work, she wouldn't feel comfortable accepting the rewards.

Broly looked at her for a moment, then nodded slightly.

"I understand."

He withdrew his hand.

"Just be careful. If anything goes wrong, mention me in the group chat, I'll be there immediately."

Su Xiaoyou huffed lightly, her cheeks puffing up a little in irritation, which only made her look unexpectedly cute.

She pulled out her alloy staff, spun it once in her hand, and without another word, jumped straight out of the building.

Broly shook his head slightly, then followed right behind her.

With a burst of speed, his small figure shot forward like an arrow, heading toward the marked location Naruto had sent.

They arrived quickly.

Inside the target location was a woman dressed in a kimono.

At that moment, her head had already split open, revealing her true form.

It spread outward like a grotesque flower, multiple tentacles extending and twisting. The tips of those tentacles sharpened into blade-like edges, slicing through nearby objects with ease.

The air itself seemed to ripple with danger.

Broly stepped forward without hesitation.

He had no intention of dragging the fight out.

Raising his fist, he threw a straightforward punch.

There was no complicated technique only pure, overwhelming power.

However, due to his lack of precise control, the result was far more destructive than intended.

The impact instantly tore the parasite and its host body apart, scattering fragments across the room.

The creature was killed on the spot, with no chance of resistance.

Broly lowered his hand and glanced at the aftermath briefly.

He still needed better control over his strength.

Otherwise, every fight would end like this.

He turned slightly, already focusing on the next target.

"Next…"
