The more Lucifer acts all friendly and emotional, the more it proves he's setting a trap. If the Demon King actually had real feelings for her, that'd be earth-shattering.
"Shoot."
He closed his eyes like he was ready to hand his whole life over to her.
"Cut the act, you goddamn monster."
Scarlet dropped her arm and shook her head. Just by looking at Lucifer's face, it wasn't hard to guess that bullet wouldn't kill him.
"You're the one who set up that whole act earlier. You really think a toy like that can kill me? Besides, this kind of weapon gets nullified if you bring it inside the Dark Tower, so don't rely on it too much. Find a way to awaken first."
Jokes aside, he still had to tell her the important stuff. Otherwise she'd be useless to him.
"Dark Tower? That tower has a name? And how do I awaken?"
Compared to the tower's name, she was more interested in the awakening thing. If she could awaken, maybe she'd have the power to beat Lucifer?
That arrogant thought was immediately brushed aside. A mortal beating a demon king sounded completely insane.
If Lucifer was a devil that originated from Earth, that'd be one thing, but he was already at the level of an eternal entity. How could she possibly win? Even if she killed him, his true form would hunt down her soul for revenge.
"From what I see, just copy slave No. 2. I'll find a zombie for you to kill… If I can't find one, I'll grab a normal person, have a zombie bite them, then give them to you to kill."
Lucifer wasn't sure he could find a zombie quickly, so he thought of a more practical way.

[The savior cannot kill innocent people for no reason. And don't you try making up some lame excuses with me. You used to be an archangel, so you should know what's allowed and what's not.]
"No way! That's just murdering innocent people. I don't agree."
Both the system and Scarlet yelled at Lucifer, one inside his head and one outside. Getting screamed at by two people at the same time was annoying, but he was in the wrong here so he couldn't argue back.
"Fine, fine. Stop yelling. I just won't do it, alright?"
At this point, Lucifer found being the savior kinda troublesome. He thought coming to Earth meant he could do whatever he wanted, but turns out there was all sorts of crap getting in the way.
"One more thing. My name is Scarlet, not slave No. 1. If you're gonna talk to me, use my name. Otherwise I'm not listening."
She had a proper name. Being called slave No. 1 all the time was annoying as hell. She was sure David felt just as annoyed as she did.
"Slave No. 1! Slave No. 1! Slave No. 1! I just like saying it. What are you gonna do to me?"
Lucifer shamelessly yelled right into her ear and then flashed a smug grin like he already had victory in his pocket.
"Hmph, if you dare, I'll expose..."
Scarlet didn't even get to finish her sentence before Lucifer's blood-red eyes staring her down shut her up. The vibe coming from him just now didn't seem like a joke—more like he was actually about to kill her.
"I already did what you wanted, so if you dare expose anything, you deal with the consequences yourself."
Lucifer's voice right then made her feel like she'd fallen into a freezing pit of ice. She didn't dare look him in the eyes at all.
"Hmph, you always twist my words. All you give me is useless crap…"
Scared as she was, that didn't mean she was going to back down. Anyway, it was true that everything Lucifer promised her was just junk.
"Now I'm helping you awaken. That's real enough, isn't it? Just wait a bit."
Lucifer laid her face down to avoid the spot where she was hurt, then immediately ran outside to find a zombie, leaving her lying on the bed before she could even react to what just happened.
"That damn bastard… Sometimes he's so considerate. Other times he acts like I don't even exist. He does whatever he wants. Why the hell did I have to get stuck with this goddamn jerk?"
Scarlet's feelings about Lucifer were a mix of like and hate… Mostly hate. As for why she liked him, she didn't know.
Right then Victor called her, which made her happy because she finally had a chance to rat out Lucifer. Now that he wasn't around, surely her father wouldn't take his side.
"Oh, where did Lucifer go?"
Victor's first words turned Scarlet into a statue. He clearly called her, but the first thing he noticed was Lucifer. Yhat really made her blood boil.
"Dad! Why are you paying attention to that perverted bastard? Your beloved daughter is lying flat on the bed, unable to get up because of that rude jerk."
This 'top-tier' language from Scarlet made Victor's eyes pop wide open. If Scarlet was Lucifer's wife, then what would he be? Father-in-law?
The only being who could call himself Lucifer's 'father' was one single existence. If Victor dared to arrogantly put himself on the same level as that great existence…
The weather where Victor was right now was really hot, but he couldn't help shivering. A mass producer of murder weapons like him had never felt anything as terrifying as this in his entire life.
If a human killed him, at worst he'd just lose his physical body. But if he dared to become Lucifer's father-in-law… He couldn't imagine how many horrifying entities would be staring at his soul with extremely unfriendly attitudes.
If that day actually came, he wouldn't be able to go to hell or heaven. Those entities might even thoughtfully build a 'special-care' zone just for him.
"Sweetheart… There are some things that no matter how hard you try, you just can't make them happen. You need to know your limits. No matter how outstanding and beautiful you are, even if you're a billionaire's daughter, you still need to know when to back off."
Seeing her usually fearless father suddenly say something so defeated and scared made the corner of Scarlet's mouth twitch a few times.
