Shuvo usually woke up late every day, but today was different. Early in the morning, he woke up and sat at the breakfast table with his mother and grandmother.
His mother looked surprised and asked,
"Shuvo, why are you up so early today?"
Shuvo replied casually,
"I have to go somewhere. I've got something to do."
After finishing his breakfast, he took his car and left the house. Today, he was going to the hills alone.
After reaching the hills, he parked his car at the bottom of a small hill and stood at a distance from Pari's house, waiting.
After some time, Pari's younger brother came out of the house. Seeing a well-dressed, unfamiliar young man standing nearby, he asked,
"Who are you looking for?"
Shuvo smiled and asked,
"Is this your house?"
The boy replied,
"Yes."
Shuvo continued,
"Who lives here with you?"
The boy said,
"My sister, my father, and my mother."
Shuvo asked,
"Where is your sister?"
The boy replied,
"She's at college. She'll be back soon. But why are you asking all this?"
Shuvo took out an expensive chocolate and offered it to him, saying,
"Do you want some chocolate?"
The boy, amazed by the chocolate—something he had never tasted before—quickly took it.
Shuvo then said,
"I came to visit the hills. I'm just standing here to take some rest."
"Oh," the boy said, and walked away.
Shuvo kept waiting there. After a while, he saw Pari walking up from the bottom of the hill, returning from college.
Without wasting a moment, Shuvo quickly walked down and stood in front of her.
Seeing him suddenly, Pari became frightened. In a trembling voice, she said,
"Why are you here? What do you want? Please move away from my path…"
Shuvo realized she was scared. Gently, he said,
"Don't be afraid. I won't do anything. I just want to talk."
He looked at her and added softly,
"You are so beautiful… even in your uniform, you look amazing. Since the day I saw you, I haven't been able to forget you."
Hearing this, Pari felt nervous and said,
"Please let me go. I want to go home. You should leave."
Shuvo replied,
"I'll go… but I'll come every day just to see you. I live in Sylhet city."
Pari hesitated and said,
"You look like someone from a very rich family. We are very poor. Please leave before my father sees you."
Shuvo smiled and said,
"Alright, I'll go. But give me your phone number."
Pari shook her head and said,
"I don't have a phone. Please go."
Shuvo insisted,
"There must be a phone at your home. Give me that number, and I'll leave."
Deep down, Pari had also started to like Shuvo. After thinking for a moment, she said,
"You give me your number… I'll call you."
Shuvo quickly gave her his number and said with a smile,
"I'll be waiting."
Then he handed her the whole packet of chocolates and said,
"These are for you."
With that, Shuvo left.
