Chapter 13 - Chap.11 - Training

Rigel followed the five to an abandoned shack in the "slum" near the city. He also managed to get some clothes there, although he had to repair and clean them with magic, doing the same not only to the clothes but also to the bodies of his new recruits.

This shocked them even more, leaving them surprised and also excited about the future.

"Captain, where is our ship?" Billy finally asked, after reluctantly accepting this new identity, now finding himself trying to understand his new life.

"We don't have one yet, but we'll have one tomorrow." Rigel shrugged.

He wanted a legendary ship, like the Black Pearl or the Flying Dutchman, but fighting a horde of cursed zombies for the Pearl and cursed ghosts for the Dutchman... well, that wasn't very smart at the time.

However, the zombies would soon turn back into humans... then the Pearl would be available, but Davy Jones would come after Jack in the future and he didn't know if Davy Jones had also marked the Pearl, so he could only give up on those two ships for now.

Instead, he turned to the Interceptor, a two-masted brig, said to be the fastest ship in the British Royal Navy.

Sure, it's smaller and slower than the Black Pearl, but to start with, it's a great ship.

Jack and Will are going to steal it tomorrow to go after the Black Pearl, well, if Rigel steals it first, that means the ship is his!

Besides, this will give him reasons to participate in the plot and improve his adventure, stealing the fastest ship of the Royal Caribbean fleet... that's really very ostentatious, great for improving his hitherto nonexistent reputation.

The five exchanged surprised glances, but they didn't doubt it much, after all, Rigel is a witch, and they believe his power is limitless.

Rigel settled into their house for the day, even taking some of the food he brought to feed his hungry "crew", who were extremely excited about the food. Going from eating stale bread to eating meat, even if it was dry, made their loyalty to Rigel grow even faster than when they first saw his magic.

Ultimately, for those orphaned boys, being able to eat their fill was a dream they didn't want to wake up from.

Rigel ignored them and considered going to see Jack, but decided against it. Jack, despite being one of his favorite protagonists, was the type who would sell his mother for a grape, so Rigel wasn't ready to reach out to that guy yet.

While they ate, Rigel, on the other hand, was thinking about the attack that night. Should he participate in the looting? There were rich people here, like Governor Swann. Well, no, he quickly gave up, the governor wasn't a bad guy.

His fame wouldn't grow because Barbossa was leading the attack, at most, Barbossa would become a little more infamous.

In the end, there wasn't much to do today except protect this place.

Feeling the linen dragging against his skin, he sighed, frustrated with these clothes, even though they were clean, he only hoped he could leave this city soon and return to his comfortable attire.

Over the night sky of Port Royal, darkness enveloped the city, black clouds hid the moon and stars while a biting cold blew from the sea to the coast.

Rigel was reading his first-year Transfiguration Book, a lamp floating beside him illuminating the yellowed paper, his Transfiguration skills weren't the best, so he needed more practice.

In fact, Rigel brought several books on magic with him, there was even a book about magical adventurers that taught various useful spells for all kinds of situations, such as the bubble head spell, which he is very interested in learning, but unfortunately he hasn't managed to yet.

Transfiguration is great for giving form to magic, which is why he was focusing on it first before attempting to cast that spell again, in a world based on the sea, this is a very important spell.

He was also after other spells, which fortunately the Blacks possessed, one was the Unbreakable Vow.

In a world of pirates who betray each other at every turn, magic to prevent such betrayal is truly very important, however, he was even further from learning it, his difficulty far greater than a simple spell to create a bubble on his head.

The other was Expecto Patronum, in a world with zombies, ghosts, and all sorts of evil things, a protective spell that acts precisely against that was a gift. Unfortunately, the difficulty problem persisted, and Rigel hadn't been able to conjure the Patronum yet, only a thin mist.

At most, he could ward off some weaker ghosts with it, it was useless beyond that.

Rigel could only sigh, he could only take one step at a time. He had even considered spending years in this world, learning magic. The adventure book said that was possible, but not advisable.

Even if he ages here, he won't age a day with his real body, but the problem is that the longer he stays here, the lower the rank of the main mission.

The book made it clear that there is only one way to obtain rainbow rewards, by completing the main mission, and only if it is completed perfectly. Otherwise, normal achievements only offer rewards up to Platinum.

The time it takes to complete the mission is also factored into the final mission result, so the longer it takes, the lower the degree of completion of the main mission.

Now, the question remains whether it's worth trading a rainbow reward for more practice time, the book only stated that each rainbow reward is unique and invaluable, nothing more than that.

Leaving that aside, his five subordinates were already huddled in dry straw, their beds, so to speak.

Rigel had drunk a potion of stamina, keeping himself awake and alert, even at this hour of the night.

Salazar was still absorbing the warmth from his skin, snuggling even closer to his neck to escape the cold.

Rigel grabbed his wand and pointed it at a rat paralyzed by the petrification spell beside him. "Vera Verto."

The rat began to transform into a cup, but the cup was still furry, with a rat's head emerging from it, squeaking in fright at its predicament.

Rigel's lips trembled, he sighed, and pointed to the gloomy chalice. "Finite Incantatem."

The rat quickly reverted to its original form, the petrification had vanished. It tried to flee, but Rigel pointed his wand at it swiftly. "Petrificus Totalus."

And there it was, the petrified rat again.

Since Rigel was having difficulty with the advanced subjects, he was focused on practicing the ones that suited him. Transfiguration is one of the broken skills in the world of Harry Potter, but his talent for it was even less than for enchantments, he could only practice more.

Rigel reread the chapter on that subject, searching for where he was going wrong, but while he was researching, he heard a cannon sound in the distance, and his eyes widened.

Boom~

Even the earth vibrated, he knew what that meant, the Black Pearl had arrived...
