Chapter 18 - Chap.16 - Fool, Lovers and Magician.

Jack was lying in his cell, asleep, when Rigel arrived and observed the man with evident curiosity.

"Jack Sparrow?" Rigel asked lightly.

"Captain." Jack replied, still half asleep. He lifted his hat that was covering his face from the sun and spoke with conviction, or at least all the conviction a sleepy man could muster. "It's Captain Jack Sparrow."

Rigel chuckled lightly as he spoke. "Look, Jack, I came because we have a common purpose."

"A common purpose? With a child who still hasn't weaned himself off his mother's breast? I highly doubt it." Jack put his hat back on his head.

Rigel raised an eyebrow, he knew very well who Jack was.

He was already interested, not because he truly cared, but because Rigel was a child and children are more easily manipulated, Rigel could bet that Jack was already thinking about how to get him to get the cell key for him.

"You want the Pearl, don't you? I can help you get it back." Rigel sat on the bench outside the cell, looking at Jack with obvious curiosity.

Jack finally sat down, setting his hat aside, looking at Rigel with narrowed eyes. "And what do you know about the Pearl, boy?"

Rigel ignored Jack's question, adjusted his own hat, and spoke. "You want the pearl, but it's in Barbossa's possession, I want the treasure that Barbossa and his crew took 10 years to accumulate."

'Besides Hector's Piece of Eight, but I don't need to say that.' - Rigel thought.

Jack laughed, amused. "And how do you expect a pirate... and a half... to accomplish that feat?"

"I am a Wizard, Mr. Sparrow." Rigel finally spoke, his hand waving as his wand appeared above it and he pointed to the cell door. "Alohomora."

The door opened with a click, Jack's eyes showed surprise for a moment, his eyes slightly narrowed as his head tilted back a little, looking somewhere between contemplation and confusion, only to give way to an expression that only Jack Sparrow could make. " I've seen better magic shows, kid."

He stood up at once, ready to leave, but Rigel waved his wand at the cell bars again. "Colloportus."

The door closed again, without the click of the lock, but the spell was far stronger than the lock.

Jack tried to pull it, he realized he couldn't, he tried again, and again, soon he was jumping trying to pull the door, Rigel just watched, twirling the wand in his hand.

Finally, he grew tired and bent down, pressing his face against the bars. "Alright, kid, you have a deal, get me out of here."

"Hmm... I don't know why, but I don't think I believe you." Rigel shrugged.

Jack gave his best smile and said. "Come on, kid, I'm an honest pirate, the most honest you'll ever find."

Rigel stared at him with empty eyes, the only ones who believed in Jack were those who didn't know him. Even Jack's 'friends' know that trusting Jack is foolish.

Rigel smiled and pointed his wand to the side. "Serpensortia."

A black mamba was summoned again, causing Jack to jump back in fear.

"Mr. Jack, because I have difficulty trusting you, the deal is quite simple, put the snake around your neck. If you betray me, it bites you, if you attack me, it bites you, if anything happens to me, it bites you. That way, I'll be able to trust you." Rigel explained.

It was a palliative measure for the lack of the unbreakable vow spell.

Jack, who had moved to the corner of the cell, shook his head negatively, watching the snake approach him.

"Kid, you don't need to go that far, do you?" Jack gave his famous charming smile, but Rigel just stared at him expressionlessly.

"Take the snake, and I'll let you leave, but if you don't want to, I can simply turn around and leave." Rigel shrugged.

Jack licked his lips, worried, but seeing Rigel turn around and get ready to leave, with the snake following him, Jack, not wanting to be hanged, decided to take the risk.

"Hey, wait, I accept, I accept." He quickly grabbed the snake and put it around his neck.

The next moment, he froze as the snake coiled around his neck, its head landing near his jugular vein.

Jack took a deep breath, trying to calm himself with the cold snake against his skin.

Rigel smiled again, but did not release Jack as he had hoped, instead, he sat back down on the bench.

"So? Shall we go? Work your magic." Jack waved his hands toward the cell.

"Let's wait, destiny isn't complete yet, Lovers hasn't arrived yet." Rigel smiled, he put his hand in his pocket and took out a deck of cards, a tarot deck, he spun the first card, showing a naked man and woman.

Jack blinked, blinked again, before sitting down again while saying exasperatedly. "I hate Witchs."

-Wizard. - Rigel corrected him, chuckled lightly and picked up two more cards, pretending to draw them casually, but he had already arranged the cards in the order he wanted. He showed them to Jack, placing them next to the Lovers card, there were two more cards, the Fool card and the Magician card.

"Do you know what it means when the Fool, Lovers, and Magician cards come together?" Rigel asked, it was more rhetorical than a real question.

"I hope that means I'm going to get my ship back." Jack rolled his eyes.

"These cards, together in a Tarot reading, represent an extremely dynamic and positive moment, indicating the conscious beginning of a new chapter in love, creativity or life. This trinity suggests that you have the freedom (Fool), the desire/choice (Lovers), and the tools (Magician) to manifest a new reality." Rigel explained.

"I suppose I'm the Fool." Jack said, unimpressed.

"Yes, we already have the Fool's freedom and the Magician's tools, but we still need the Lovers' desire." Rigel smiled.

He was clearly faking it, after all, all the 'Witchs' in Pirates of the Caribbean are good at pretending. Increasing the mystery and showing some predictive ability might decrease the chances of Jack doing something against him.

Of course, knowing Jack, he would still place a bet even if all the odds were against him.

"Sorry, partner, but this 'fool' doesn't seem to have any 'freedom' to distribute." Jack mocked, gesturing towards the cell around him.

Rigel shrugged.
