Chapter 12 - Chapter 12 – Sean’s First Night in Slytherin

Sean's heart skipped for a moment.

Very few people knew the Sebastian Corporation's weapons division had actually been designed and developed by him personally.

Yet Professor McGonagall had somehow guessed it immediately.

Still, Sean's expression remained perfectly innocent.

"Is there a problem, Professor?"

A trace of anger flashed across Professor McGonagall's face.

"Do you know how many people have died because of your weapons?"

The atmosphere around them instantly became tense.

At that point, Sean stopped pretending entirely.

He frowned slightly and answered calmly:

"My original intention in designing weapons was to help people protect themselves and defend their countries."

Then Sean suddenly asked:

"Professor McGonagall, what do you think of Mr Ollivander?"

Professor McGonagall blinked in confusion.

After a moment, she answered cautiously:

"He's a very good man."

Sean nodded.

"Exactly."

"But I doubt he ever expected the wands he crafted would eventually be used by Voldemort to murder countless people."

The instant that name left Sean's mouth—

The entire Great Hall fell silent.

Every student froze.

Several younger students even turned pale instantly.

Even many professors looked uncomfortable.

Sean calmly continued:

"Weapons are merely tools."

"Tools themselves aren't good or evil."

"The morality depends on the person using them."

"Wouldn't you agree, Professor?"

Professor McGonagall found herself momentarily speechless.

At that moment, Dumbledore finally intervened.

"Mr Sebastian is correct," Dumbledore said gently.

"There is no inherent evil in a weapon itself."

"It is the person wielding it who chooses whether to harm others."

Then his gaze sharpened slightly.

"And Mr Sebastian…"

"At Hogwarts, we generally avoid speaking that man's name aloud."

Sean nodded politely.

"Understood."

"Now then," Dumbledore continued with a smile, "please return to your seat."

"The feast is about to begin."

Sean calmly turned away.

Then, just before sitting down, he casually added:

"I'll seriously consider your opinion, Professor McGonagall."

After that, he finally sat at the Slytherin table.

The hall remained unusually quiet for several seconds afterward.

Eventually, Dumbledore clapped his hands cheerfully.

"Right then! A small interruption."

"Let the feast begin!"

Instantly, enormous amounts of food appeared across the tables.

The students' attention rapidly shifted toward the banquet itself.

The Great Hall soon became lively once more.

Meanwhile, away from the students' view, Professor McGonagall helplessly glanced toward Dumbledore.

Dumbledore merely smiled calmly and gestured for her not to worry.

Sean, however, stared at the food before him with complete disappointment.

British cooking.

Truly terrifying.

Boiled.

Steamed.

Or mixed together into something questionable.

As someone who had lived with modern cuisine from his previous life, Sean found the entire feast almost impossible to enjoy.

In the end, he simply ate some fruit before quietly following the Slytherin prefects toward the dormitories.

Slytherin House was located deep beneath Hogwarts beside the Black Lake.

The moment Sean entered the common room, even he paused slightly in surprise.

Luxurious green furnishings.

Elegant carved stone.

And most impressive of all—

The enormous underwater windows overlooking the Black Lake itself.

Dark water drifted slowly outside while strange fish occasionally swam past the glass.

The atmosphere felt mysterious and noble.

"First years against the wall!"

A loud voice suddenly echoed through the common room.

"Prefect Charlie has something to say!"

A group of older Slytherin students surrounded the first years while grinning maliciously.

Then the prefect stepped forward arrogantly.

Sean glanced at him briefly.

And instantly developed a headache.

Honestly speaking…

Most of the Slytherin students were rather unfortunate-looking.

Centuries of pure-blood intermarriage had clearly produced certain side effects.

Crooked teeth.

Pale skin.

Awkward features.

Combined with superiority complexes.

A disastrous combination.

Sean immediately realised something troublesome.

If he wanted Slytherin to win the House Cup, he would eventually need to reform this house completely.

And judging by appearances alone…

That would not be easy.

"Unless I open a cosmetic surgery division," Sean muttered thoughtfully.

"What did you say?"

Charlie pointed at Sean sharply.

Sean lazily cleaned his ear.

"What's this supposed to be?"

"First-year orientation?"

Charlie grinned unpleasantly, exposing several rotten-looking teeth.

"Looks like the new kid understands quickly."

He slowly paced before the first years like a prison guard.

"In Slytherin, first years handle all cleaning duties."

"The common room."

"The corridors."

"And naturally…"

Charlie's grin widened cruelly.

"The older students' dormitories as well."

A sharp female voice immediately protested from the crowd.

"That's house-elf work!"

Charlie turned toward the speaker.

A young girl with dark hair glared back at him angrily.

"Pansy Parkinson," Charlie mocked lazily. "Listen carefully."

"In Slytherin, I'm the prefect."

"And filthy creatures like house-elves aren't allowed inside our dormitories."

Then his gaze shifted back toward Sean.

"Pansy."

"Sean Sebastian."

"You two will begin cleaning immediately."

"And you won't sleep tonight until every senior dormitory is spotless."

Charlie bent down and stared directly into Sean's eyes.

"Understood?"

Sean sighed softly.

"To be honest," he said calmly, "I originally didn't intend to involve myself in your childish little games."

Then he slowly looked around the entire common room.

"But since I've joined Slytherin…"

Sean smiled faintly.

"I hereby announce that from this moment onward…"

"I'll be serving as Slytherin's prefect."

Silence.

Dead silence.

Then—

The entire common room exploded with laughter.

"Hahahaha!"

"This first year's insane!"

"Did someone cast Confundus on him?"

Even several prefects nearby nearly laughed themselves breathless.
