Chapter 18 - **chapter eighteen:the rain **

We got on the school bus in four groups, but trust me to always stay with my people, no matter what. The weather changed about half a minute on the way. It was quite windy, it was strong, the trees keep on doing the weird things I call dancing.

It was a two-person seat on each side of the bus. I sat with Ashely first, but when I turned to the back of the bus, I saw Luca. I had no idea he was on the same bus as me. He was sitting with Jules, who is such a loud talker and quite annoying.

I could see how uncomfortable Luca was, as Jules wouldn't stop talking and shouting weird questions, oh, and the look.

Heyy, he waved after he caught my eye. "Hey," I giggled. "Do you wanna switch places?" he asked. Before I could say a word, Ashely disagreed. "I'm not seating next to that boy." "Ash, c'mon," I tried to sweet-talk her. When she agreed, I got up and switched seats with Jules.

Luca: "I don't know how I feel, really. You know, this is my first time camping." "You mean, like, first time ever?" I asked curiously. "Yeah," he replied. "Oh, but why?" Luca: "Let's say my school never gone camping, never, or probably because I was still in junior high." "Mmh, well, I've went on school camping three times and missed two, so this is my fourth, plus me and my brother are campers. We go to Christian camps or music camp." Luca: "Sounds like fun."

"Yeah, you will have fun," I said.

"Is that rain?" I heard some kids saying. "OMG, it is, actually." It was raining cats and dogs. I love rain. I love when the weather goes dark from the clouds. I love when it's windy and rainy. I love when I'm on my bed or in a bus.

"Do you want my jacket?" Luca asked. "And what will you wear then?" I questioned. "Haha, don't mind me, I'm fine. You are the lady here, so take it." "Thank you," I said softly. Then I put on the jacket, and it was slightly bigger, but it was warmer. I wrapped my arms around him, so did he, without caring what other people think.

The camp site is still awhile, so we had small talks, and I even napped in his arm. It was the best feeling ever. I can tell he was smiling, and I hear his heartbeat, and for a second I was scared he doesn't hear mine. It was like a bang, a heavy bang.

The bus stopped, and when I opened my eyes, I couldn't tell if it was morning or evening. It was all dark, and I heard the camp inspector saying everyone should get inside the cabin. It was quite a number, and the boys are left way and girls are right way. We ran up and got into the cabin. It was much, but it was well furnished, wood, spray, good bed. I took the upper bunk, and Megan also took the other one. Ashely and Lara took the low one, and Kelly shared the upper bunk with Megan.

The rain got heavier, and we started unpacking and changing into something more comfortable. I received a message from my mom asking if we got there yet. I replied immediately with an apology for not responding sooner.

The rain went from heavier, heavy, then it got lighter, then it went from that to drizzling, and then a tap, tap, tap on the porch.

"Dinner's ready," I heard someone calling. We all rushed to the camp cafeteria, and it was cosy, and not what I expected. We got served, and after we were done, we all headed to our cabin for a good night rest.

At the cabin, I changed to my nightwear, then we stayed up late eating our snacks and having some girls conversation.

Megan: "Y'all have to tell Lanie the truth. If she loves Luca, she should tell him how she feels before it's too late. That guy might actually be shy to say a word, or thinks that it's too early."

"Yeah, that's right, Mel," Ashely agreed. "Sometimes it doesn't always have to be the guy who makes the first move. Girls might have to." Lara: "Girls, no, I don't think that's a good idea. She has to wait till he says something, else she'll appear to be desperate, plus she just gone through a lot with all the Emory and Layla stuff. She should think if he wants this." Kelly: "Guys, because no one else has done it doesn't mean you shouldn't do it, and because someone did it doesn't mean you should do it." Megan: "Oh, bars, Kelly on the mic." Y'all, I don't understand. You can call me slow. Thank you very much. The whole time, they just fade away, and I knew I liked Luca, but I don't know if I'm ready to take the risk of telling him how I feel.

Deep down I hear a loud no !

Even though he is nice to me , and always been there for me I don't think I should let my guard down.

It wasn't him , it was Emory and he might be a different one a good one ...but sometimes we just can't tell .

I climbed my bunk and lay down thinking about Everything ...dear God I don't want to be a victim again.
