"Campers should assemble at the teaching hall."
We all got to the hall, and it was quite crowded. I whispered to Kelly, "What is this camp for, by the way?" "Uhmm," she got cut off before explaining. "Welcome, students of Burberry High.
We are glad to have you here. As you all are graduating in few months, our goal is to impact in you all, and raise students to be their very best self, not only academically, but also in your social lives. This course is a one-of-a-kind, and also, we won't forget about the fun part. Welcome, once again."
We clapped as the camp director finished her speech. We left to have breakfast before the activities start. I was scanning the room to see if Luca was there, but he wasn't. Instead, I caught someone else's gaze.
I gestured, "What?" Instead of looking away, he walks up to my table. Emory: "Your cute boy's not here." "Fuck off," I said. Emory smirked, "Why, pretty girl, you used to like me." "Exactly," I cut in, "used to, not anymore." Emory: "Don't tell me you don't, that's not nice." "Then go cry about it," I said with no emotion. "I'd rather love a pig than you." Emory: "Sore, ain't ya? Have fun loving your pig." With this, he walked away.
"Girl! You killed it," Megan said. "Whatever, I have to make sure he knows I am no longer the same person he embarrassed, to make it worse for the girl he acted like he didn't want."
Again, we gathered in the hall, and there's a brief announcement about the fun timetable being put out on Cabin 03 and Cabin 13. We headed there, and there was a whole list of things to do, ones I find very fun and new also, but myyy, I caught "night hikes," the "Walden walks."
"I don't know if I could go night hiking. What if we got lost in the woods?" I complained. One of the camp inspectors heard me. "You won't be going there unsupervised. There will be one or two adults who will be there with you and make sure you don't get lost."
The first thing on our fun timetable was "campsite cook-off," where we all have to cook a full meal over bonfire, and it all sounds fun to me, and disastrous.
The woods are ready and had been arranged for the night cook-off, but for this morning, we have orienteering and navigation. It was under our wilderness survival skills, where we will use a compass and a map to find our way back from the woods. And we will also learn making tents. It was quite an adventure.
We walked for over an hour, resting, and then we kept up for a while. Then we split to a group of four, and each group has a leader.
I wasn't in any of my friends' group, but I was also glad I wasn't in the same group as Emory, because he was one of the group leaders, so I imagine he would try to make things tough for me.
Jason was our group leader, and we all worked together. It was hard at first, and all our phones were in the camp, so the map and compass was a bit hard to get a hang of.
When we got back to the camp, we found out only one group made it back, so we waited on the two. We had a lot to do, by midday I was wooooorn-out.
