Int. Party Night
(EUN and Won arrive at the party wearing beautiful pink and blue gowns; music plays in the background; they enter the venue.) Won: What a magnificent party, isn't it! Eun: Yes. (EUN spots them and beckons them over.) EUN: Hey, Eun and Won—come over here! Eun: Yes, we're coming! (Both walk over and begin chatting together. Meanwhile, the Chairman is standing with his friends; he turns around, spots the two of them, and calls out to them.) Chairman: Oh, Miss Eun and Won—come here! Eun: (Looking at the Chairman with a fake smile) Yes, yes!
Upon seeing the Chairman, both of them hesitate slightly. (The Chairman to his friends): Hey friends, I'd like to introduce you both to the smartest employees in my company. Mr. Cha: Yes, we've been wanting to meet the person you've been praising so highly. Chairman: Just a minute—here they come. (Scene Cut) (EUn and WOn conversing amongst themselves)
WOn: Do you think Mr. Kang might have told the Chairman anything about what we did? Yoon: How should I know? Are you scared? WOn: I'm not scared; I just don't want him to punish us again. I can't handle that much work all over again. But anyway, let's go and see what this is all about first. (EUN calls out to YOOna) EUN One minute, YOONa—we'll be right there. YoonA: Alright, come on.
(Both head toward the Chairman)
(Scene Cut)
EUn: Chairman, did you call for us? Chairman: Yes, I wanted to introduce you both to these gentlemen. So, this is Mr. Cha, and this is Mr. Shi; they are investors in our company, as well as good friends of mine. EUn: (Smiling) Hello, Mr. Cha and Mr. Shi—I'm Kim Han Yoon. Wan: (Smiling) And I'm Park Wan. Mr. Cha: Well, you both look wonderful. EUN and WOn: Thank you. Mr. Shi: Chairman Kang told me all about you two—and just how capable you both are. (EUn whispers to WOn) EUn: Thank God that grumpy old guy didn't spill the beans! Wan: Yeah. Thanks, Mr. Kang Eun. He's not *that* great. (Scene Cut)
(They are talking when suddenly, Kang and Park make their entrance at the party, dressed in suits. As soon as they walk in, all the girls turn to look at them. They are filled with excitement and practically jump for joy; the girls start screaming, "Look how handsome Mr. Kang and Park look! Oh my God, Mr. Kang is so handsome!" WOn also keeps staring at them and says to Eun:) Wan: Eun, Mr. Kang looks really good, doesn't he? And that 'Chunder' guy looks pretty good too—but Mr. Kang looks absolutely amazing! Eun: Quiet, WOn! We need to get out of here right now. He hasn't told the Chairman yet, but he's going to tell him any moment now. WOn: Yeah. (Kang and Park start walking toward the Chairman; Eun turns to the Chairman and says:) Eun: Alright, Chairman, may we leave now? Mr. Cha: Wait—have a drink with us. WOn: No, thank you, Mr. Cha. (Wan whispers to Eun:) Wan: Come on, Eun. Chairman: Wait—I want to introduce you two to my sons. Eun: (Nervously) Y-yes... (Kang walks over and looks at Eun, but Eun averts her gaze. Park looks at them and says:) Park: Hi, Eun and Wan. Chairman: Do you two know them? Kang: Yes, Dad—we've certainly seen their excellent work. Chairman: Even so, let me introduce them properly: these two are our company's most promising employees. Eun: (Extending her hand toward Kang to introduce herself) Hi, Mr. Kang. I'm Kim Han Eun. It's nice to meet you. (But Kang does not extend his hand; instead, he arrogantly shoves it into his pocket. At that, Eun smiles and withdraws her own hand. Park extends his hand to shake Eun's, and Eun extends hers as well.) Eun: (Squeezing Park's hand tightly) Hi, Mr. Park. I'm Park Eun. (Park's face contorts in pain.) Park: That's quite enough! Eun: (Releasing his hand) Oh. Sorry—I squeezed a little too hard. Park: Yeah... a *lot* too hard. But it's okay. (To himself) I'll deal with her later. (Kang steps a little closer to Eun and speaks to her in a low voice.) Kang: What was that? Did you think I'd tell Dad? Don't worry—I won't. But if anything like that ever happens again in the future, you'll face an even harsher punishment. Eun: (Laughing) Oh, really? Alright. But nothing like that is going to happen. Kang: (Laughs, amused by the expression in her eyes.) (Eun turns to look at the Chairman.)
Eun: Chairman Kang, we'll be taking our leave now. Chairman: Very well. Have fun. Eun: Come on, Won. (They start to leave, and Park calls out "Bye" as they go.) Park: Bye! We'll see you again tomorrow, Miss Won. And enjoy yourself, Ms. Eun! Won: (Turning back to Park) You lunatic.
(Scene cuts.)
Mr. Cha: Wow, Kang! How are you? Kang: Hi, Mr. Cha. I'm just the same as always. Mr. Cha: (Laughing) Hahaha! Mr. Shi: This is Mr. Park, isn't it? Mr. Cha: Are you the son of *that* Mr. Park—the Chairman's best friend who passed away in a car accident? Kang: (Loudly) Mr. Cha...! He is my brother—do you understand? He is not alone. Park: (Calming Kang down) Yes. (In a normal tone) It was a pleasure meeting you, Mr. Cha and Mr. Shi. Kang: (To Mr. Cha) What is it? Let Park speak. Mr. Cha: But... isn't he Mr. Park's son? Chairman: Wait a minute, Mr. Cha. I am right here. Even though my friend is no longer with us, Park is still my son. So, please do not speak as if he is alone. Mr. Cha: I apologize, Mr. Park. Mr. Cha: —Mr. Park. You may have taken offense, but that was not my intention; I simply didn't recognize him, so... Mr. Park: It's quite alright, Mr. Cha. I wasn't offended; you merely spoke the truth. (Chairman, to his friends) Chairman: You guys enjoy yourselves; I'll go introduce THEM to the President. Mr. Shi: All right. Mr. Cha: Forgive me, Kang. Chairman Kang: Yes, it's no problem at all—just don't let it happen again. We'll be going now. (The Chairman, Park, and Kang go to meet the President.) Cut.OUT
