Kai, Mira, and Lira walked out of the broken city. The roads were empty and full of cracks. Purple light from the sky made everything look strange.
Kai felt the nine Echoes inside him like noisy friends who never stopped talking. Every step, one voice tried to take control.
Reginald said fancy, "This journey lacks style. We need a carriage."
Gust yelled wild, "Run faster! The wind calls!"
Blaze got angry, "Everything is too slow! Burn the road!"
Kai shook his head hard. "Quiet! I am walking normally."
But his legs suddenly used wind dash. He shot forward ten meters and almost crashed into a tree.
Mira laughed loud. "Haha! Your legs have their own ideas!"
Lira stayed close. "The safe house is two days away. We must stay calm. No fights. No new Echoes."
Kai nodded, but inside he felt the crystal from Vesper burning in his pocket. It called to him. The voices wanted it bad.
They walked for hours. The land changed. Trees became twisted. Strange flowers glowed purple.
Suddenly, the sky cracked loud. A big purple hole opened above them.
From the hole, a giant eye looked down. It was not a monster. It felt old and smart — like a god watching.
A deep voice spoke inside Kai's head. It was not one of his Echoes.
**"Little thief… you stole many pieces. But you are still weak. Take my gift. Become useful."**
Kai froze. "Who said that?"
Mira looked up. "The sky eye! It is talking!"
Lira's face turned white. Her silver threads went crazy around her. "It is a god fragment! Run!"
But it was too late.
The purple crystal in Kai's pocket glowed bright and flew out by itself. It went straight into his chest.
Pain hit him like fire and ice together.

Kai fell to his knees. All nine Echoes screamed. Then a new, calm, powerful voice joined them.
The god voice said, "I am Nyxar, the Watcher. You will help me wake fully. In return, I give you strength."
Kai's eyes turned purple for a second. He stood up slowly.
When he spoke, his voice was deep and calm — not mixed. "Fear not, children. I will protect you."
Mira's mouth opened wide. "Kai? You sound… normal? And scary cool!"
Lira stepped back. "That is not Kai. The god is using him!"
Kai (or Nyxar) smiled. "Correct, fate girl. But only a little. Your friend is still here… fighting."
Kai felt like he was watching from inside his own body. He tried to speak. "Get out of my head!"
His mouth moved, but the god voice answered instead. "No. We will work together. Watch."
A group of strong shadow beasts ran out from the trees. Ten of them. Bigger and smarter than before. They had red eyes and moved like soldiers.
Normal Kai would fight hard. But now the god took control.
Kai raised one hand. Purple light mixed with his fire, wind, and shadow powers.
He roared with Alpha Shadow power, but it was stronger. The roar had god power in it.
The beasts stopped. They bowed their heads like dogs listening to their master.
"Serve me," the god voice said through Kai.
The beasts turned and attacked each other! They fought and killed until only black smoke remained.
Mira clapped. "Wow! You made them fight themselves! Best power ever!"
Lira looked scared but impressed. "This is dangerous, Kai. Gods do not give gifts for free."
The god voice laughed soft. "Smart girl. But the boy needs power. The Veil is breaking faster. Other gods are waking. They will fight to own the world… and bodies like his."
Kai felt the god leave control a little. He fell to the ground breathing hard.
The real him spoke weak. "That… was crazy. I saw everything. Like I was a passenger in my own body."
Mira helped him stand. "But it was so cool! You controlled monsters without touching them!"
Lira checked his eyes. They were normal again. "The god fragment is inside you now. It will talk more as you get stronger. You must fight it, or it will eat your personality."
Kai touched his chest. He felt stronger than ever. New blue screen appeared.

Kai smiled tired. "One slot left. If I take one more normal Echo… the god wins?"
Lira nodded. "Probably."
They kept walking. But now everything felt different.
At night, they made a small camp.
While Mira slept, Lira sat next to Kai.
She spoke soft. "I see many futures. In some, you become a new god and forget us. In others, you stay Kai and save the world. But it is hard."
Kai looked at her. For once, no voice mixed. "I do not want to lose myself. Or you two."
Lira's face turned a little red. "Then fight the voices. Every day."
Suddenly, Mira woke up shouting. "Look!"
In the sky, many small purple cracks opened. From one crack, a small glowing person flew down.
It looked like a child made of light. It landed in front of them.
The child spoke with a sweet voice. "Hello, Echo Thief. Nyxar sent me. I am his helper. He says take one more Echo tonight. Then you can control the next Veil Quake."
Kai felt the god voice wake up strong. "Yes… take it. Become greater."
The child pointed to the forest. "There is a dying strong awakened. His Echo is powerful."
Mira's eyes shone. "Shiny! Let's go collect!"
Lira stood up. "No! It is a trap from the god."
Kai felt torn. Power called him. The voices shouted yes. The god whispered promises.
He stood up. His hands shook.
What should he do?
Take the tenth Echo and risk losing himself forever?
Or say no and stay weak when bigger dangers come?
The child smiled. "Choose fast. The dying man will not wait."
Kai took one step toward the forest.
Then he stopped.
He looked at Lira and Mira.
"I… I will decide tomorrow. Tonight, we rest. No more Echoes."
The god voice got angry inside. "Foolish boy."
The light child disappeared with a sad face.
Mira pouted. "Aww… no new card."
Lira smiled small. "Good choice, Kai."
But as they tried to sleep, the sky cracks grew bigger.
Kai lay awake. Nine Echoes + one god fragment argued in his head.
He whispered to himself, "I am Kai Voss. I died once. I will not die again… as someone else."
But deep down, he knew the real test was coming soon.
The tenth Echo was waiting somewhere.
And when he took it, everything would change.
