LEON'S POV
"Why did you guys argue?" Taylor questioned, his fingers impatiently tapping on the counter.
"We didn't argue." I replied, swirling the whiskey in my glass.
He scoffed. "Of course you didn't."
I turned my head in his direction.
"Look, Lucien and I didn't argue. OK. We had just overstayed our welcome in his house and he wanted to be alone. You know how he is."
He shook his head. "No, of course not. I don't know how he is or how you are. Do you think I'm dumb?"
He slammed his glass on the counter drawing eyes to us.
I glared at him.
Why was he being so stupid, I didn't want to deal with his stupid questions right now.
He has been asking me the same question for days, he was starting to sound like a broken record.
"I said we didn't argue!" I got off the stool and headed out.
I could hear him calling my name behind me as I stormed out of the bar.
Lucien didn't have to be so fucking rude and kick me out of his house just because I was fucking his maid.
Yeah, a maid.
That was all she was to him, he didn't give a flying fuck about her so why?
Unless….
I chuckled, running my fingers through my hair.
Of course, there was no way a man and a woman would live together for so long and no feelings developed.
Lucien might be a terrible and shitty human being but he was a man after all.
"Leon." Taylor grabbed my shoulder and turned me around.
"Nothing happened. Drop it, Taylor." I sniffed.
Taylor shook his head and crossed his arms.
"You can't keep doing this."
"Ok fine. I will tell you, but when the time is right."
He opened his mouth then closed it up.
He sighed, then nodded his head, annoyance visible on his face, but he couldn't really shake the words out of me.
"See you around then." He walked away and headed for his car.
I looked at my wristwatch and it was around six past nine.
Lucien probably wasn't home yet, this was the week his company had a corporate event.
I should probably use this time to visit Olivia.
And maybe apologize for telling that asshole everything.
She definitely wasn't going to be happy but who cares. I was going to be fucking happy to see her.
As much as I hated to admit it. These past few days without her….
I shook my head.
Leon you idiot what are you thinking.
********************
The moment I walked into the house I knew Lucien wasn't around.
I flipped the light switch and light spread everywhere swallowing the shadows.
The sound of feet rushing down the stairs had me looking.
"Lucie…" Olivia's excited expression disappeared the moment she saw me.
"What are you doing here?" She spat.
She had really lost a lot of weight. Not like she was all there before but she had gotten skinnier.
What was Lucien doing to her?
Regret washed over me as I saw the dark bruises around her wrists.
I shouldn't have told him.
I should have kept it to myself.
But I-I just wanted to…..
"Get out." She yelled pointing towards the door.
I bit the inside of my mouth.
"I can't leave….yet." I took a step towards her and she moved back, terror visible on her face.
Was she afraid of me?
But I had never hurt her, ever.
"L-leave before I call the police." She stuttered.
I didn't want to do anything with her, not while she was in this state all bruised up.
I just simply wanted to hug her, get a feel of her then I was gonna leave before that maniac came back.
"Olivia," I called, "do you want Lucien to find me here…with you?"
She froze.
God what did he do to her for her to be this afraid?
I moved towards her and gently traced the contours of her face.
"I missed you." the words slipped out of my mouth before I could stop them.
She slowly looked up at me, her brown eyes glossy, her parted lips inviting me to claim them.
I internally groaned.
She was killing me, I was trying so hard not to ruin this.
Just one kiss will do.
I leaned down my lips meeting hers, she wouldn't let me in she kept her mouth shut.
So I spanked her ass, she gasped and I used that as a chance to invade the mouth.
It was warm just like how I remembered.
"Kiss me back." I ordered.
She didn't listen, instead she kept standing there like an emotionless statue.
I pulled back, annoyed and frustrated.
"I-I slept with Lucien." She blurted out.
I furrowed my brows.
"What?"
She put her arms around herself. "I had sex with Lucien."
She had sex with him? Huh.
Lucien actually touched her?
I grimaced.
Lucien was the type of guy who only had one night stands. I don't know If it was because he wanted it or if it was because the girls were too scared to come back.
All the girls he slept with always left the room bruised and bleeding.
That explained it then, the bruises on her wrists, the limp in her walk and the way she froze when I said his name.
But how could he, that asshole.
I definitely shouldn't have told him now he was gonna ruin her for me.
"It doesn't matter." I gently threaded my fingers through her hair.
"I still want you," I whispered and placed a gentle kiss on the corner of her lips.
I turned on my heels and headed for the door.
"See you around Olivia." I said without turning back.
I was gonna show her how much better I was than Lucien.
He breaks things. I don't.
