LUCIEN'S POV
She kept her eyes on me the whole way here.
The thought of her with Leon sat in my chest like rot.
And the more I thought about it the more pissed I got.
The food tasted good as always.
I reached across her from my own side of the table and gently grabbed her wrist.
She flinched then looked up.
Why did she flinch?
I frowned.
"You cut it like this." I moved her hand, helping her cut the steak on the plate.
This was the first time I had brought her to such a place.
"I'm sorry for embarrassing you." She whispered, looking around.
I chuckled, I didn't give a shit about these people.
"You're not embarrassing me."
She shyly nodded her head.
I tilted my head, watching her eat.
Those same lips she opened to eat the food I had brought her, she had used to kiss another man in my house.
She was shameless.
Did she think I was a pushover?
Where did she get this terrible behavior, who'd taught her that?
I paid the bill and we walked out of the restaurant.
"This place is really nice," she smiled at me, "a couple of days ago Mr Ta…."
"Mr Hale."
I looked up and my eyes fell on Emily.
I inwardly groaned. What the fuck was she doing here?
"Ms Davis." I greeted.
She had three bodyguards behind her, two had shopping bags in both their hands and one had boxes in their hands.
"It's so nice to see you again," her eyes fell on Olivia and her smile fell, " and who is this?"
I looked at Olivia, our eyes met for a brief moment and she looked down.
I inwardly scoffed.
If it was Leon would she have done the same thing?
"My maid."
A smile bloomed on her face, her eyes sparkling.
"Oh really."
"Do you need some help? I see your guards are having a hard time." I questioned.
She eagerly nodded her head.
I turned my head to Olivia.
"Help them." I gestured with my head.
She blinked, opened her mouth then closed it.
"Give her all the bags." I said.
"It's fi…"
One look from Emily and her guard shut up.
They both handed the bags to her.
She stumbled a little before she found her footing.
Emily let out a low chuckle as she watched her.
"So, have you eaten?" She asked, moving closer to me.
Her perfume hitting my nostrils.
Why did she have to use such a strong perfume?
"I have." I replied.
Her face fell and she nodded her head.
"So where are you off to now, I can accompany you for a bit."
She beamed. "Oh, i-i just need a few things from Elysian couture."
"Mmh then let's go."
She walked next to me, Olivia was a few steps behind us.
We passed a few stores, Emily bubbled on and on about herself, the things she liked, her travels and a whole lot of shit I didn't really care about but had to pretend to.
I could see Olivia from the corner of my eye, struggling to hold the bags.
"Ms Davis, Mr Hale." The manager rushed up to us.
Emily tried on so many evening gowns till I lost count.
Olivia stood behind me looking dejected.
"Do you want something?" I asked, not looking back at her.
"N-no thank you." She whispered, her voice shaky.
I shouldn't have asked.
By the time Emily finished I was annoyed and ready to ditch her.
But I sucked it up.
The reason why she had looked so familiar to me was because her father was a big name in the business industry, he was close to being as big as my family.
Thus I was trying my best not to tell her and her terrible perfume to fuck off.
We departed from the store, making our way to the private parking lot when a familiar voice called my name.
"I'm sorry for causing an argument between you and your friends." She wiped her hands on her dress.
I put my hands into my pockets.
How long was this gonna last?
"There was no argument. Go well Ms Davis." I turned to leave but she grabbed my hand, stopping me in my tracks.
She smiled nervously. "Please call me Emily. Mrs Davis is my mother. A-and thank you for accompanying me."
I nodded my head.
Wasn't she gonna let go? I didn't wanna keep smelling her in my space.
She moved closer and I furrowed my brows, I knew exactly what she was going to do.
I could feel Olivia's eyes watching us from the car window.
Since when have you started making stupid decisions Lucien?
She stood on her toes and placed a light kiss on my lips.
The moment she pulled back she turned on her heels and rushed to her car.
I ran my fingers through my hair.
*************************
I waited for her to close the door before my hand connected with her cheek.
A gasp flew out of her parted lips.
"You dare to question me." My fingers slipped under her chin and lifted her head.
Her eyes were glossy, her lip split.
I sucked in a deep breath.
"Olivia," I placed my hands on both sides of her face.
Why does she keep doing this?
How many times do I need to teach her how to behave?
"Why did you do that?" I pulled her face closer.
A tear slid down her cheek, followed by another and another.
"I'm sorry. I won't do it again." She whispered.
So she knew, she knew and she still did it.
"Tell me what you did." I gently wiped her tears.
"I-i hesitated when you told me to carry Ms Davis' bags." She sobbed.
I nodded my head.
There's my girl. I pulled her into a hug.
"Good girl," I whispered, running hand over her hair, "next time I won't be so forgiving."
She nodded her head against my chest.
"Words."
"Yes, sir." She choked out.
I held her in my arms as she cried.
The good thing was she had learnt her lesson and there wouldn't be a next time.
All that was left was to punish her a little bit for what she had done with Leon, then we'd go back to how we were.
Peaceful and no secrets.
