Chapter 21 Partner Card Voldemort?
Basil was speechless.
Harry still believed Ron's explanation.
The stammering, pitiful Quirrell was indeed hard to suspect.
For the next while, Basil idly dealt with Hermione's boring, almost entirely bookish, conversations,
while scooping ice cream with his golden spoon.
Unfortunately, he couldn't steal the golden spoon to sell; he'd already asked Ron.
It was so unfair, the whole school was his!
Meanwhile, he mentally reviewed the entire layout of Hogwarts.
Unlike the games, each room wasn't labeled.
He had to mark them himself.
Therefore, he could only guess based on the layout.
The Headmaster's office was the easiest to identify, with its ceiling and walls covered in dense portraits, Fawkes the Phoenix resting on a golden branch, and exquisite, misty silverware.
Click, Basil blinked.
He snapped a picture of the Phoenix.
The -10000 hint dispelled his idea of creating a Phoenix summoning card.
He shifted his attention to the gargoyle at the entrance to the headmaster's office.
It had bat-like wings and a pointed beak.
Basil frowned.
In his past life, a Catholic nun he had been dating had a similar statue in front of her courtyard house.
His gaze then turned to Hermione.
In the West, a high-achieving student often had some theological background.
So, he briefly described the statue to Hermione, the Muggle's brightest student.
Hermione immediately guessed, "This is a Gorgon. It's believed to be a monster that collects rainwater and acts as a guardian in the underworld,
hence its placement on the rooftops or drip edges of Gothic churches."
"The reason it's designed to be terrifying is twofold: firstly, to warn the unbelievers that they will be eaten by the monster if they don't believe in religion; secondly, to drive out evil spirits from churches, so the more terrifying the monster's appearance, the better, for exorcism."
Ron, who had been gossiping about Percy to Harry, leaned in.
"A running Gorgon!"
"They use it in the Muggle world?"
"We mostly use it as an insult, or when we're surprised. When we use it as an insult, it means ugly."
"Bagil, you don't know?"
Bagil coughed. "I've never heard a swear word."
In fact, it was true.
His grandmother had never let such swear words enter his ears.
Even when he went to Diagon Alley, at the Leaky Cauldron, everyone became civilized after seeing him.
Including the drunken taverns.
He only learned the filthy word "Mudblood" from his past life.
His eyes welled up with tears.
For the first time, he truly felt love.
The seven Galleons belonging to Old Tom in his pocket felt inexplicably hot.
Composing himself
, he lowered his head and refocused his gaze on Hogwarts in his mind.
He headed towards the Great Hall, where he was now.
Not far away, in front of the door of a large room on the same ground floor—a room with wooden planks around the walls, filled with black wooden chairs, and a large wardrobe—a pair of dripping stone beasts were also discovered.
Inside the wardrobe, there was a strange creature, seemingly composed of flowing black energy.

[Fantastic Beast: Boggart]
[Level: 1]
[Mana Cost: 3]
[Summon a Boggart. When a single enemy unit appears within a 2m radius in front of it, the Boggart will transform into the form that unit fears most. Absorbs excess negative emotions.]
[Health Points: 0]
[Weaknesses: Laughter, positive emotions, spells containing positive emotions]
[Note: Boggarts are non-existent, a type of magical creature. They are born from human emotions and feed on them. They transcend life and death, and Muggles can only perceive all currently known non-existent beings indirectly. Because non-existent beings transcend life and death, they cannot be born or die. They cannot be truly destroyed; they can only be driven away with positive emotions or spells containing positive emotions.]
[Maximum Capacity: 1]
[Note: Too many intelligent beings within range will confuse the Boggart, making it unsure of what form to take.]
[Transformation Form Library: 0 (Maximum 10)]
[Damage: 0~10]
[Note: Due to their nature, Boggarts will absorb only the portion of negative emotions that could potentially damage enemy units beyond their physical tolerance threshold when absorbing negative emotions.] Therefore, enemy units will not suffer physical harm due to negative emotions. Unless the enemy unit's feared image is too dangerous and proactively aggressive, it will inflict damage of 10 or less based on that image. [
Spellbook Level: 2 (1000/400)]
"Non-existent? In Japan, that's practically godlike."
"It's mentioned in 'Monsters and Their Origins.' Boggarts like narrow, dark spaces, like wardrobes, gaps under beds, sinks, and storage cabinets under desks. But judging from the card description, it's not actually afraid of light? It just hates it."
"Even so, this is still a useless card."
"A transformation image library? The Boggarts I summon can inscribe the image of someone else's fear?"
"But I remember the book saying that their transformations cannot completely imitate the same power or magic. For example, a Boggart transformed into a Dementor cannot have a strong negative impact on people, and the scream of a Boggart transformed into a ghost is not fatal."
"Hmm, 0-10, the notes below say so."
"However, if someone has seen Voldemort and is most afraid of him, then what about a Voldemort with 10 damage?"
"And what's important isn't the damage, but rather the special abilities of magical creatures."
"Boggarts can restore some of their power."
"This is simply a god-tier card."
"One card encompasses multiple summon cards and companion cards."
"Wait, Voldemort."
"Harry hasn't seen a Dementor yet, could the terrifying image be Voldemort?"
Basil looked at Harry, who was frantically showing off his syrup tart.
Harry, danger!
He said, "Harry, what do you think is under Professor Quirrell's scarf?"
Harry looked at Quirrell's purple scarf.
In that instant, the [Book of Spells] in Basil's mind flipped a page, and [Boggart] lit up, following Basil's gaze, projecting its power onto Harry.
A true hero kills with his eyes!
Harry suddenly lost his color; the Boggart's manifestation, a scene born from Harry's deepest fear, entered his mind along with Basil's gaze.
The monster told his mother to leave, stepping over his father's corpse as it approached him.
His mother didn't move, pleading.
The monster laughed.
With a flash of green light, his mother loudly called his name, and then inexplicably collapsed.
The green light veered away, revealing a bald, scarlet, snake-like monster with no nose, only narrow slits in its nostrils and pearly white skin.
Under everyone's gaze, Harry stood up.
Pointing his finger at Quirrell's back of the head, he uttered the magical name: "Voldemort!"
before collapsing to the ground.
In Basil's mind, the page for [Boggart] suddenly updated:
[Voldemort (fake)]
[Life: 0]
[A loud, chuckling laugh, then casting a Killing Curse with a yew wand (fake) that deals 10 damage]
Then it returned to normal.
Only, the number after Boggart's [Transfiguration Library] entry changed to 1.
