Chapter 27 - Chapter 28 The Week's Lessons After

Chapter 28 The Week's Lessons After

Charms class, Basil mentioned these things to Harry and the others,

except for the part about why Slytherin students turn bad.

Hermione shook her head vigorously, "It's not in the book. It's better to stick to the textbook."

Ron had a different opinion, "What you said makes sense. I've seen it in some old books at home. But it also says, 'If you successfully cast a spell, don't worry about the intensity of the incantation or how you swing the wand, just remember the feeling! That might be the best way for you to cast spells!'"

"I think maybe Harry just found his own personal style."

  Harry nodded in agreement.

  He considered himself quite ordinary.

Where would he get such high magical power?

  Ron's explanation seemed more plausible.

  "Okay." Basil shrugged.

Believing in one's own correctness is also a kind of spiritual strength.

Just like a skilled Transfiguration wizard can ignore the incantation and the swinging of the wand.

Harry's thinking was also acceptable. He

could definitely do that when learning advanced spells later.

Just like what Seamus did in the dining room at noon today.

"Rabbit eyes darting, harp's melody echoing, water turns to wine." It wasn't a spell at all.

Fred and George, like they'd tricked Ron, told Seamus it could turn water into wine.

However, this seemingly joking spell actually worked.

With Seamus frantically waving his wand,

the water immediately took on a fruity fragrance.

Although the taste was more like juice because Seamus had never drunk wine before, it was still pretty good.

  That's the power of belief.

But unfortunately, Seamus couldn't summarize, resulting in a fleeting moment of brilliance.

Subsequent attempts only led to disaster.

The other classes this week didn't really impress Basil.

The herbalism class, three times a week

, became somewhat boring after Basil could now freely invade the greenhouse through his mental Hogwarts to secretly take pictures.

In fact, after Tuesday afternoon's herbalism class, Basil made a batch of summoning cards:

[Chinese Bite Cabbage], [Mandragora], [Baboon Tuber], [Poison Tentacles]

  It cost him 2000 gems.

Good heavens! He hadn't even had time to make his echo yet!

Of these summon cards, [Mandela Grass] and [Poison Tentacle] were the most worthwhile.

  [Miracle Plant: Mandrake Grass]

  [Level: 1]

  [Mana Cost: 4]

[Summon Mandrake Grass. When there are enemy units in the fan-shaped area in front, Mandrake Grass will scream loudly and slowly crawl towards them. When attacked, Mandrake Grass can avoid damage by merging into the soil.]

[The sound damage from Mandrake Grass is neither magical nor physical; the player unit's magic resistance is not fully effective.]

  [Health: 50]

  [Damage: 10 ] [

  Damage per Second: 3] [

  Weak to Fire: -10]

  [Attack Interval: 3s]

[Attack Range: 3m, damage decreases by 1 point for every 1m beyond that]

  [Target: Ground, Air, Underwater]

[When the target is an underwater unit, the attack range decreases to 2m; beyond 1m, the damage decreases to 0]

  [Movement Speed: Slow]

Although [Mandela Grass] has very low health, it's considered low among plants.

However, it is more resistant to fire.

Its sound can also be deadly.

This isn't magic; magic resistance can't negate all the damage.

And because it combines magic with magic, it's not a purely physical attack, so it can't be completely avoided by sheer willpower.

Normal wizards, due to the human body's structure, have less than 10 health points.

Unless they cover their ears immediately, they'll die.

  [Miraculous Plant: Poison Tentacle]

  [Level: 1]

  [Mana Cost: 4]

[Summon Poison Tentacle. When an enemy unit is present in the surrounding circular area, the poison tentacle will extend vines towards itself and inject venom with its stingers. The venom causes paralysis and continuous damage.]

[The venom damage is neither magical nor physical; the player unit's magic resistance is not fully effective.]

  [Health Points: 140]

  [Weakness to Fire: -50]

  [Tentacle Damage: 3]

  [Damage per Second: 1]

  [Attack Interval: 5s]

  [Attack Range: 3m]

  [Target: Ground]

  [Movement Speed: Unable to move]

  [Poison Tentacle Venom]

  [Damage: 10]

  [Damage per Second: 1]

Judging from the panel, it looks like a poisonous devil's web.

While its strangulation isn't as powerful as the devil's web,

it has poisonous stingers, and the venom damage increases every second.

Moreover, the venom only causes damage if it's injected into the body.

Therefore, unless an antidote is taken within 10 seconds, or an extraction spell is used to draw the venom out of the body,

  it will still cause death.

Although the immunity of a wizard with magical possession can be considered a kind of innate, constant magic, and conventional toxins cannot endanger a wizard's life,

this venom is not entirely magical damage and cannot be resisted or reduced by magic.

Furthermore, because it's combined with magic, the venom cannot be expelled by the wizard's innate immunity.

According to Ron, Professor McGonagall's ex-husband was killed by the poisonous tentacles.

[Chinese Stinging Cabbage] and [Babbo Tuber] are purely filler.

The former is only included because its name contains "China." In terms of damage, it can't even break through the body's inherent physical defenses, which aren't reflected in the data panel. It might be worth trying for those with strange fetishes, since it has a mouth.

The latter is useful because its diluted pus can remove acne.

  It can make money.

Besides getting Basil's [Spellbook] experience bar to 900 and making another card, they have no other use.

As for the weekly Wednesday astronomy class,

aside from the romantic atmosphere under the stars at night in the tower, the knowledge taught is extremely dry.

While Harry and his friends vehemently hate magical history, Basil doesn't dislike it as much.

Although Hogwarts' history class has limited resources, unlike his previous middle school where he could attend classes in a museum,

  it's still manageable—a ghost teacher!

  How novel!

Especially since he doesn't care about you, and his lectures help you fall asleep!

Defense Against the Dark Arts is a course only offered at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In this course, students learn how to resist various types of dark magic, including dark magical creatures, dark spells (including curses, poisons, and evil spells), and duels.

Logically, everyone should be looking forward to such a cool course.

But the entire class, including Basil, lost faith in it.

Basil knew about Quirrell because he'd seen the movie.

The other students had specifically learned about the professor after the opening banquet incident.

However, everything turned out differently than they expected.

As first-year students, they were mainly learning about the dangerous areas of the magical world

  and various survival methods.

For example, using the Red Spark Charm to release red sparks into the sky.

All the Ministries of Magic used this spell as a survival symbol, essentially a survival hotline for the Muggle world, and it was universally applicable.

Quirrell explained this clearly and logically, without stuttering,

in just half a class period.

The remaining time, he focused on the Black Forest of Albania.

The magical magnetic field there was extremely chaotic.

Unless one had lived there for many years or possessed exceptional magical skills, it was impossible to cast spells normally. Even

a prophet's third eye would become blurred here.

Therefore, it was teeming with dangerous dark creatures and fugitives.

After the class, most students looked at Quirrell with newfound respect.

Even the lingering garlic smell on him seemed less pungent.

The older students said that Quirrell had exceptional insight into dealing with dark creatures and dark magic, and his Silent Spell was incredibly powerful.

A single piece of armor had blocked several Stunning Spells.

  But Basil wasn't particularly moved.

He was more concerned with Quirrell's performance.

Quirrell seemed to have completely dropped his pretense.

He was incredibly gloomy, even more so than Snape.

Only during lectures did he show any passion.

Fortunately, this change benefited Basil, adding nearly 5000 gems to his account.

This is why he was willing to spend gems to craft summoning cards that evening, after Herbalism class.

As for the remaining Flying class, it was said that it would be several weeks later.

In short, the only useful classes this week were Transfiguration and Charms.

But now, he needed to pull himself together.

Ron was still walking along, complaining about the morning's Potions class.

He, Ron, and Hermione were with Harry, heading towards Hagrid's hut.
