Chapter 11 - Great True Daoist

"Chu Fu has come to visit."

The voice was loud and sharp, full of arrogance and confidence.

"Great True Daoist Chu Fu!? Wasn't he supposed to come seven years later? How did he know the master has come out of seclusion?"

Tian Yisong was so shocked that he muttered these words outloud with a long sway of his trunk.

Although Tian Yisong considered himself better than most and take pride in his cultivation, he still knew the wide gap between himself and a Great True Daoist.

Sometime, life was like this.

People might appears to have the same standing and rights, but in reality there exist an immeasurable, intangible gaps between them. Perhaps it was social status, perhaps it was bloodline, or perhaps it was the people themselves. One could never know until they experienced it.

The gingko tree turned its attention elsewhere, its gaze falling on the Sword Immortal of Xingyu. It saw the confusion on the girl's face and he instantly understood her confusion.

He sighed inwardly, 'To think she thought so high of me. From the look on her face, she must have thought Great True Daoist Chu Fu and I are on roughly the same level. She couldn't be more wrong.'

In this world, each cultivation realm transcends the person, completely separating them from others in the lower cultivation realm.

'The common knowledge available on the market is that there are five cultivation stages: Mortal transformation, Qi refining, Foundation Establishment, Golden Core and Nascent Soul.'

'What they didn't know is that there are realms beyond that of Nascent Soul, called Soul Formation stage.'

Tian Yisong thought grimly as he turned his attention to his master, the flood dragon.

If it was not for this master of his, he wouldn't even have reached the Golden Core stage, much less have access to high level information with such certainty. The average rogue cultivator might have heard rumors about the Soul Formation realm, but they would never have the certainty like he did.

Why?

'Because master have met and conversed with Nascent Soul True Monarchs, twice!'

Tian Yisong thought back to that fateful day when he just broke through to the Golden Core realm and couldn't help but shuddered involuntarily.

Furthermore, it was well known amongst those who wielded Divine abilities that the flood dragon in his adolescence had met with a mysterious figure who was at least at the Nascent Soul True Monarch level, or even higher. The lax attitudes of the various True Monarchs over the years while the flood dragon ran rampant suggest it was very well an Immortal!

Meanwhile, Zhou Zaizhi who stood nearby, saw the gingko tree shuddering, began to feel cold sweats run through his body.

'Not good! Didn't the gingko tree say this Great True Daoist would come seven years later? Why did he now?' Zhou Zaizhi thought in panic.

Then he suddenly realized, 'No… It was my misconception. All this Great True Daoist said was he would give the flood dragon ten years, three years has already passed. He didn't say he would only come at the last moment.'

Zhou Zaizhi blamed himself for this oversight, but he immediately stopped and forced himself to keep calm.

'It doesn't matter anymore, no use regretting it. In the end I have to face this person sooner or later, I cannot delay it.' Zhou Zaizhi made up his mind for the worst possible outcome, even fighting to the death.

When someone wanted to harm you, no amount of self blame or analysis could help it. They will find a way somehow, the only thing you could do in the end is meet with the problem head on.

It has to be said that Zhou Zaizhi was a cautious person even on Earth.

When getting an assignment, he would always ask about details and criteria for the passing grade. Before submitting the paper, he would make sure to get proof or do it when there are other witnesses if possible.

After dying and coming to this world, he had experienced what felt like rebirth three times in total.

This made his already cautious mind couldn't help but develop in the direction that borders on paranoid.

But his internal turmoil lasted only a moment. To the astonished gaze of one human and one tree, Zhou Zaizhi walked out of the mountain and plunged downward on the wind.

After comprehending his first Divine ability Living Water Nurtures the Origin and gained total control over it, Zhou Zaizhi had long since gained the ability to control his Qi freely and ride the wind.

It was as easy as breathing.

Of course, being a Golden Core cultivator, Zhou Zaizhi could naturally travel through the Void Dimension. However, from the information he received from the black orb, the void dimension was fairly dangerous.

'The most crucial thing is that it housed everyone above the Golden Core stage. That means a Nascent Soul True Monarch could potentially be in there!'

A person as paranoid as Zhou Zaizhi would naturally not venture into another dimension without knowing anything.

'I need to make preparations. But first, I have to pacify this Chu Fu.'

Just as he thought so, Zhou Zaizhi finally reached the outskirts of the mountain.

There, he saw a handsome middle aged man wearing a white-blue Daoist robe. The man wore a flowing cape that seemed to be an oversized coat of deeper blue color. On his head was a golden crown and hairpin. His sleeves and boots were adorned with blooming lotus patterns that emits vapor of cold air intermittently.

It was truly luxurious.

The distance between them was only half a kilometer away, yet they could see each other clearly as if standing right in front of each other.

Zhou Zaizhi probed with his spiritual senses, but found nothing. No traps, no ambush, no reinforcement.

Just Chu Fu alone, floating in the air.

Likewise, the Great True Daoist Chu Fu also did the same. An amused smile creeped up his face when he saw that the flood dragon dared to come down alone. A hint of surprise crossed his face as he saw that the flood dragon was in such a good state.

Their eyes met in mid air, and Chu Fu was the one who spoke first:

"So, the great Yuan Baizhi finally dared to see me now? What an honor, I thought for sure you would die in that little cave of yours."

"You really survived the Sea Splitting Saber and the Ocean Suppressing Pillar, how did you do it?"

Towards Chu Fu's words of mockery and probing, Zhou Zaizhi only answered with silence.

It's not that he didn't want to answer, but he couldn't. He did not even know what are Sea Splitting Saber and Ocean Suppressing Pillar, much less how he survived those wounds after his transmigration.

Seeing the flood dragon's silence, Chu Fu immediately frowned. The smile on his face disappeared, he spoke in a cold voice:

"Alright, let's not beat around the bush." Chu Fu's eyes turned sharp and piercings, faint blue light surged around his body as he continued:

"Where is my pill?"
