Chapter 14 - Ruthlessness

When the Great True Daoist Chu Fu saw that bloodthirsty dragon ripped through empty space with its massive claws like scissors cutting clothes, he knew danger had come. Instantly alerted, Cu Fu roused all his spiritual essence and Divine abilities, pushing them to their maximum capacity.

A thin sword materialized on his hand. The sword's body was crystal clear, as if made from pure ice. The blade itself was one cun wide, three chi long, smooth and cold to the touch.

It was his spiritual treasure, the Fleeting Cold.

It was a sword personally bestowed by the True Monarch of Glazed Lotus pavilion, a treasure of the highest caliber.

A white, blinding light enveloped Chu Fu. His hands that were holding the hilt of the sword turned white like Jade. His eyebrows turned white, a little bit of frost clinging to them. A faint silhouette of snowy mountains and a vast pine forest covered in snow could be seen behind him.

The mountains were filled with cracks, as if they were about to crumble at any moment.

At this moment, with all five Divine abilities manifested, Chu Fu was at his strongest, yet also his weakest.

The Great True Daoist raised his sword and slashed at the empty air.

The clear sword made a blue arch in the sky, snow flakes falling behind with fluttering pine leaves. In the next instant, blood sprayed forth.

At an unknown point of time, a massive dragon body had appeared before the Daoist in blue.

It was a flood dragon with two dark blue horns and grey white scales.

This flood dragon was naturally Zhou Zaizhi. He had torn a rip in space to

the Void dimension, crossing a thousand Li in an instant.

When the flood dragon appeared, it was immediately cut by the sharp thin blade at the abdomen. The sword wound was as thin as paper, shallow and light, with a little bit of frost on it. Although the cut area was wide, the wound was not deep and did not hurt much at all.

It was like a paper cut.

Yet Zhou Zaizhi's Divine ability Living Water Nurtures the Origin sounded an alarm that sent chills down his dragon spine.

He felt his body go weak and cold, a large amount of heat leaving his body through the sword wound. His spiritual essence disappeared as if leaked, the coordination of his Divine abilities fluctuated slightly.

'Not good!'

Immediately after, Zhou Zaizhi made a split second decision that left even him shocked.

His dragon body twisted as his dragon claw swung at his own abdomen. The massive dragon claws cleaved his body in three: one at the head and torso where his dragon claws were attached, one at the abdomen where the sword wound was, and one at the tail.

It was a painful, decisive move!

Having made this decision, Zhou Zaizhi immediately charged at the Great True Daoist with even more fierceness!

Propelled by streams of water, the dragon head and torso moved with incredible speed.

Images of great tsunami wave after wave rose and felt behind him, flooding the entire area in sea water.

It was his fifth Divine ability: Tidal Return.

Time itself seemed to freeze as the Great True Daoist in blue was about to follow up with a second strike, the gaping jaws of a dragon was already upon him.

"What!?"

The Great True Daoist was profoundly shocked at the flood dragon's ruthlessness and decisiveness.

The next instant, the Great True Daoist's remaining Dao body at pelvis and legs was swallowed whole in one bite by the giant dragon.

Before he could register it, his lower body was already gone, leaving behind a small golden orb the size of a fist.

On the body of the golden orb were five lines floating around it. The texts were white with a hint of soft blue in color. The texts all shone with bright light except the second line and the fifth line, which were dim and lifeless.

The orb radiates profound mysteries of ice and snow. Swirling clouds moved around it as it rotated with incredible speed, spinning infinitely on itself.

After swallowing the True Daoist's whole body, Zhou Zaizhi did not make further moves.

Instead, he gazed at the spinning orb, memorized by the marvels it radiated.

'Just glancing at it gave me incredible insights, this must be the Golden Core of a cultivator…'

For a fleeting moment, Zhou Zaizhi seemed to have gazed at an Immortal mountain filled with pine trees covered in snow.

A large, frozen lake occupies the center of the mountain. On it was a man with sharp eyes and nose, like that of a tiger or a leopard. He wore white blue robes similar to the Great True Daoist Chu Fu, but with more detailed landscapes on the back and sleeves.

The man turned around as if noticing his gaze. His eyes widened slightly as if in surprise.

They then turned into a fierce glare that sent shivers through Zhou Zaizhi's whole body.

Zhou Zaizhi felt his eyes stung as if someone had sprayed him with pepper powder. He closed his eyes and severed all connection.

His head hurts as if someone was punching on it without cease. Like a burglar who finally got into a home after destroying the front door, Zhou Zaizhi felt his Sea of Consciousness trembled.

A biting chill immediately invades the resting place of his spirit, the Niwan Palace.

Inside the Niwan Palace, the Jade palace above trembled while the sea water beneath churned and became frozen bit by bit.

Just then, the black sphere object in the sky of the Niwan Palace began to rotate with burning heat, turning into a black sun in the sky.

The coldness was forcefully repelled and faded away as if losing its target.

When he opened his eyes again, Zhou Zaizhi found himself facing the pale face Chu Fu.

By now, the Great True Daoist had already made a new body and concealed his Golden Core.

The Great True Daoist pulled out a sundial and raised sword high. He declared:

"Yuan Baizhi, enough is enough! Unless you want to make an enemy out of my Glazed Lotus Pavilion, you should think twice before killing me."

The sundial floated up above his head, its shadow hand moved clockwise with incredible speed.

Chu Fu's gaze turned sharp as he continued, "Come if you dare."

The Great True Daoist pointed his thin sword at the flood before him with extreme anger, "At most, it's a fight to the death."
