Sounds of water crashing waves after waves came unceasingly. The surrounding area was filled with sea water as far as the eye could see.
Zhou Zaizhi rode the wind on thin air, moving freely like a fish in water.
He took the scene in, feeling profound amazement. To think this apocalyptic scene was singlehandedly caused by him alone.
Hearing the sounds of sea water from below, he was reminded of a tale of Noah's ark.
'In the tales of Noah's ark, there was a great flood that engulfed the world days and nights, unceasing… What a terrifying ability.'
This flood before him was caused by the use of his fifth Divine ability, Tidal Return.
This Divine ability was boosted by the other five Divine abilities working together in harmony. When using it for the first time, Zhou Zaizhi felt as if seeing visions of myriad mountains and heard the cry of countless monkeys.
But due to the urgency of the situation, he did not have time to think about it. Thus, he paid it no mind.
By now he had returned to his peak state, his abdomen and tail had returned through the use of his first Divine ability, Living Water Nurtures the Origin.
He moved up and down with head first, tail after, in a circle as if swimming. Gazing at a person in a white blue robe, he fell into deep thought.
This person was none other than the Great True Daoist Chu Fu.
Quite some time had passed since this Great True Daoist had lost his Dao body, only having his Golden Core and True Spirit remaining.
He was holding a thin sword with one hand, a talisman with another. An orange sundial floated above him, its shadow hand moving undisturbed.
He was getting more pale as time went on, but his grip on the sword remained steady and firm.
Though two of his Divine abilities now appeared dim and damaged, he still summoned all five and alerted.
Zhou Zaizhi maintained a serious expression with a deep frown, but he was actually surprised inside.
'To think he was still alive after all that, amazing, truly amazing! Golden Core cultivators… Each and every single one of them absolutely cannot be underestimated.'
Contrary to Zhou Zaizhi's pondering mood, the Great True Daoist in blue was tense all over. Throughout their brief period of standoff, he had already imagined over a hundred possible scenarios, all of them ended with him dead after a last ditch struggle.
The gap between late stage and peak stage was simply too vast!
'I was no match for him in my peak, let alone now without my Dao body!' The Great True Daoist thought in despair.
By now, he had already created a new Dao body for use almost effortlessly, but it was not good enough.
One has to understand that although a Golden Core cultivator has transcended the ordinary and formed a Golden Core, losing their Dao body still affected their combat power significantly.
A typical Golden Core cultivator could change their appearance and body parts at will, all it required was a single thought. They could even live to their fullest lifespan as long as their True Spirit and Golden Core remains.
But their combat power would be significantly reduced compared to when they still had their Dao body.
'Yuan Baizhi temporarily abandoned his abdomen together with his two lower claws and one tail, but his power largely remains intact! He seized the initiative and gave me no time to react, swallowing my body in one bite, leaving me in such a wretched state...'
'Living Water Nurtures the Origin…'
The reason for this was because Zhou Zaizhi was the one to sever them with his own claws. This was like him changing clothes and throwing away his weapons, something foolish but posed no danger by itself.
The three body parts may be disconnected and exist separately as three pieces, but it was only temporary.
A self inflicted injury like this was not considered fatal. Perhaps if Zhou Zaizhi was fighting a large number of enemies and did this, it would really be a foolish move.
Unless an enemy got their hands on those body parts, then it would be a disaster indeed.
Otherwise, they could be reattached back just fine.
And that was the exact predicament this Great True Daoist Chu Fu was in.
'Good thing this old demon didn't practice Shamanic way.'
Just as the Great True Daoist had this thought, he heard a growling sound of a beast mixed with human words.
"Let's stop this now."
The Great True Daoist Chu Fu blinked, as if not understanding the situation.
But the demon before him continued on, as if not caring about him at all.
"Wan Zhaolu is under my protection, she is my disciple, and this is final. You shall not threaten her nor her family and loved ones again, ever."
Chu Fu's eyes widened in surprise upon hearing those words. For a moment, he was speechless.
But he did not let down his guard in the slightest. His five Divine abilities shone with even greater ferocity.
Zhou Zaizhi, however, frowned, his eyes full of killing intent.
"Still not going?"
Chu Fu pondered the flood dragon's words for a moment. Seeing that the flood dragon did not make a move, the Great True Daoist reluctantly stepped back slowly, step by step.
"Wait."
He was about to disappear into the Void dimension when he heard the flood dragon speak.
"You said you could go just like that? Leave behind your storage pouch." Zhou Zaizhi spoke as his thin slit pupils dilated into dark oval shaped, human-like pupils.
This, however, made Chu Fu even more alert.
He raised his sword high and slapped the talisman he was holding on himself, yet the attack he expected did not come.
Seeing that the flood dragon just watched him from afar, the Great True Daoist realized he had been too paranoid.
He glanced at his storage pouch in hesitation once, then threw it away decisively before taking a step back and disappearing into thin air.
Just when he was finally in the Void dimension, he heard the flood dragon spoke again:
"Don't let there be a second time."
