Chapter 7 - CH-7(THE FIRST STEP)

Steven finally arrived at the Golden Star Mountains.

After reaching there, he checked into a hotel. Once inside his room, he freshened up and changed his clothes.

Then he picked up his phone and made a call.

"Hello… yes, I've arrived. Let's finalize the deal."

After saying that, Steven left the hotel.

A moment later, the story shifts to a scene from some time earlier, when Steven was still in university.

Steven was talking to his best friend, Bill Jonson. Bill's family was extremely famous on the Eastern Continent and held great influence there.

Steven looked serious as he spoke.

"Bill, you're my best friend, and I need a favor from you."

Bill laughed lightly.

"Hey, you're like a brother to me. Whatever you ask, I'll do it. But what happened suddenly?"

Steven shook his head.

"It's not sudden. I've been thinking about this for a while."

He paused for a moment before continuing.

"You know that my brother and I are the only sons of our father. One of us will eventually become the CEO of Walker Industries. But my brother is very greedy. To become the CEO, he can go to any extent."

Bill listened quietly.

"That's why I'm planning to start a new company of my own," Steven continued. "But for that, I need some money first."

Bill smiled.

"Oh, so you need money? But you can just ask your father. Why come to me?"

Steven shook his head again.

"You're right. My father would definitely give me the money. But I want to do this business secretly. I don't want anyone in my family to know that I'm the CEO of that company. That's why I'm asking for your help."

Bill chuckled.

"Man, you're talking exactly like an anime main character… secret plans and everything."

Then he added confidently,

"Don't worry. I'll help you. Just tell me how much money you need, and I'll arrange it."

Steven immediately stopped him.

"No. I don't need money. I already have enough."

Bill looked confused.

"If you don't need money, then what do you want?"

Steven replied calmly,

"I want a small part of your family's land… in the Golden Star Mountains."

Bill looked surprised.

"That land? There's nothing special about that place. It's just a tourist spot… and these days not many people even go there anymore. Are you sure you want land there?"

Steven nodded confidently.

"Yes. I'm completely sure."

But deep inside, Steven was thinking something else.

Everyone believed that the land in the Golden Star Mountains was useless.

But soon, the government was planning to build a massive amusement park there.

Once that happened, tourists from all over the world would start coming.

In a very short time, that place would become one of the most famous locations on Earth.

And before the government started that project…

Steven planned to build a luxury hotel there.

Bill finally nodded.

"Alright. I'll talk to my father and prepare the documents. Just tell me which part of the land you want. I'll send you the map."

But Steven stopped him.

"That won't be necessary. After university ends, I'll come to the Golden Star Mountains myself, and we'll finalize the deal there."

Bill smiled.

"Alright then. I'll be waiting for you."

The story then returns to the present time.

Steven had arrived at the Jonson Mansion.

Bill's butler escorted him inside the luxurious estate.

The moment Bill saw Steven, he became extremely happy.

"Steven! You're finally here!"

Without wasting time, Bill immediately took him to meet his father.

His father's name was Barry Jonson.

Barry Jonson was a well-known figure across the Eastern Continent and one of the richest men there.

As soon as Steven entered the room, both Bill and Steven greeted him respectfully.

Barry nodded and gestured for them to sit.

"So… you're Steven Walker," Barry said calmly. "I've heard many good things about you from Bill. He also told me that you want to buy a portion of our property in the Golden Star Mountains."

Barry leaned back in his chair.

"But if I'm being honest… I don't want to sell that land."

"So this deal can't happen."

Then he added with a faint smile,

"However… if you manage to convince me, maybe I'll reconsider."

Bill immediately looked shocked.

"But Father! You said you were ready for this deal and told me to call Steven here!"

Barry looked at his son and sighed.

"You're too naive, Bill. In business, you should never trust anyone so easily."

He continued coldly,

"Business is only about one thing… profit."

"And selling that land to him will bring me no profit. In fact, it may even cause me a loss."

"So why should I sell it?"

Hearing this, Bill was completely stunned.

The atmosphere in the room suddenly became tense.

And Steven… remained calm.
