Chapter 9 - CH-9(THE INTRODUCTION)

Steven and Bill Floris finally arrived in the city. Both of them were sitting inside a taxi that was heading toward the company headquarters.

Bill was looking outside the window with sparkling eyes. The tall buildings, bright streets, and the lively atmosphere of the city fascinated him. He behaved almost like a child who had just seen a magical place for the first time.

Excitedly, Bill turned toward Steven.

"Come on, Steven! Let's go explore the city first!" he said eagerly.

Hearing this, Steven frowned slightly and replied calmly, "No, Bill. We have to go to the company first. There is a lot of work waiting for us there."

The moment Bill heard that, his face dropped. He started acting as if he was about to cry.

"But I want to explore the city!" Bill insisted stubbornly.

Seeing his childish behavior, Steven sighed in annoyance.

"You were the one who didn't even want to come here in the first place, and now you want to go sightseeing? What kind of logic is that?" Steven said.

Bill scratched his head and replied innocently, "At that time I didn't know the city would be this beautiful. Now I want to explore it."

Steven rubbed his forehead, clearly tired of Bill's behavior.

"Fine," he said. "First we'll visit the company. After that, we can go explore the city."

The moment Bill heard that, his face lit up.

"Yes!" he shouted happily.

A short while later, the taxi arrived at the company headquarters.

As soon as Steven and Bill stepped out of the car, they saw a group of people waiting at the entrance to welcome them. Among them were the company's HR, managers, the former head of the company, and several other important staff members.

They welcomed Steven and Bill with flowers before guiding them inside the building.

At that moment, Steven turned toward the former head and said calmly,

"Please gather everyone in the main hall."

The man nodded respectfully and left to call the staff together.

As Steven watched him leave, he thought to himself,

That man is David. The former head of this company. An honest and hardworking person. However, because of some troublesome workers here, he often faces difficulties managing them. Many employees don't even listen to him.

While Steven was thinking about this, the employees slowly began gathering in the hall.

Soon, everyone was standing together. Steven, Bill, and David stood in front of them.

David stepped forward and began speaking.

"Hello everyone. Today we have gathered here for an important announcement. With us today are Mr. Bill , the son of our company's CEO, and his friend Mr. Steven, who will temporarily act as the head of the company. For the time being, all major decisions will be made by him. I hope all of you will support him so that we can take our company to even greater heights."

Some people in the crowd looked happy, but a few others appeared irritated. Those particular employees were actually responsible for many of the company's internal problems.

They began whispering among themselves.

Suddenly, one man stood up.

"But sir," he said loudly, "we don't need a new head. What if he causes losses for the company? How can you trust him so easily?"

David immediately replied firmly,

"Mr. Chan, you cannot make such allegations against Mr. Steven. Our CEO, Mr. Barry, personally appointed him as the head. So your objection does not change anything."

Hearing this, Chan became even more irritated. As he sat down, he muttered,

"Who knows where these people come from, getting positions through recommendations…"

Although he spoke quietly, his voice was loud enough for many people to hear.

The moment Bill heard those words, he became furious.

He walked straight to the microphone.

"Excuse me, Mr. Chan," Bill said sharply. "How dare you say something like that? What exactly do you mean by 'people like this'? Are you questioning my father's judgment? Who do you think you are to say such things?"

Chan instantly panicked.

"N-No, Mr. Bill! That's not what I meant. I was only expressing my thoughts. I had no intention of disrespecting anyone. If my words offended you, please forgive me."

Steven had been silently watching everything unfold.

Finally, he stepped forward and said calmly,

"Let it go, Bill. Things like this happen."

He then took the microphone from Bill.

"So now all of you know that I am your new head," Steven said. "First of all, I want the manager to bring all the project files and their current status reports to my office."

After saying that, Steven turned around and walked away.

Bill followed him immediately.
