Chapter 8 - CH-8(THE PROBLEM)

Barry Jonson refused to sell his land in the Golden Star Mountains.

Hearing this, Bill was shocked.

However, Steven remained completely calm.

Inside his mind, Steven thought,

So this is Barry Jonson… a true businessman. Every decision he makes is for profit. There's no way he'll give me his land so easily, especially when there's nothing in it for him.

A faint smile appeared on Steven's face.

But I'm Steven Walker. I know exactly how to get what I want.

Seeing Steven smiling confidently, Barry raised an eyebrow.

"Kid, you're smiling… which means you must have a plan. Go ahead, tell me what you can offer. But remember, if I don't like your proposal, I'll throw you out of here immediately."

Steven calmly replied,

"There won't be any need for that, Uncle Barry. I'm sure you'll like my plan."

Barry chuckled slightly.

"I like that confidence. Go on then… tell me."

Steven leaned forward.

"If you give me the land in the Golden Star Mountains, I obviously can't pay you immediately. That's a simple fact."

Barry frowned slightly.

"But I can solve a problem for you."

Barry's eyes narrowed.

"What problem? I don't have any problems."

Steven shook his head.

"I'm not talking about your personal problem. I'm talking about a problem in your company… the new branch in Floris City."

Barry's expression instantly changed.

"I can fix that company," Steven continued calmly. "Not only that, I can turn its losses into profit."

Barry was stunned.

"How do you know about that?" he asked seriously. "That issue is highly confidential. Very few people know about it. Even my own son doesn't know."

Steven remained silent for a moment.

Inside his mind, he thought,

He's right. There's no way I should know this.

But I came from the future.

In the future, this same Floris City company suffered massive losses. Its shares collapsed and Barry Jonson almost went bankrupt.

But this time… things will be different.

Steven looked directly at Barry.

"How I know this isn't important. What matters is whether you want to turn that loss into profit… or not."

Barry crossed his arms.

"And why should I believe you?"

Steven replied calmly,

"That's your choice, Mr. Barry. But I can tell you one thing—if you don't solve this problem quickly… you might lose everything."

Barry fell silent.

Inside his mind, he thought,

What he's saying is true. This problem is extremely serious. Even I'm not sure I can handle it alone.

Maybe… I need to take this risk.

After thinking for a moment, Barry finally spoke.

"Alright, Steven Walker. I'll give you a chance. If you manage to turn that company into profit… I'll give you the land in the Golden Star Mountains."

"That's our deal."

Steven smiled slightly.

Both of them shook hands.

After that, Barry asked curiously,

"But how exactly are you going to do this?"

Steven replied,

"You don't need to worry about that. Just make me the temporary head of your Floris City company and send me there."

"And I want one guarantee… whatever decisions I make there, no one will stop me."

Barry looked surprised.

"Why do you need to become the head? Even if you go there normally, everyone will respect you. No one would dare oppose you."

Steven smiled slightly.

"You're right, Uncle. But my working style is a little different. You'll understand why… when you see the results."

Barry nodded slowly.

"Fine. Your conditions are accepted."

"But remember one thing—you'll be the head, but you won't receive any salary."

Steven laughed lightly.

"I already expected that, Uncle. Don't worry, I don't need any salary."

Barry nodded.

"Good. Then prepare yourself. You'll leave for Floris City tomorrow."

All this time, Bill had been standing quietly to the side, watching everything.

Finally he spoke,

"Wow… both of you completely forgot that I'm also in this room."

Barry looked at him.

"You fool, you're still here? I thought you had already left."

Then he continued,

"Since you're here, start packing. You're going to Floris City with Steven tomorrow."

Bill's eyes widened.

"Wait… why do I have to go there?"

Barry glared at him angrily.

"What did you just say?"

Seeing his father's expression, Bill immediately panicked.

"No, no! I mean… of course I'll go. It'll be fun anyway, especially since Steven will be there."

After that, Steven and Bill left the mansion and started packing.

While packing his luggage, Steven thought,

I need to solve this problem as quickly as possible.

Only then can I start my real plan.

The next morning, both Steven and Bill left for Floris City.

And Steven's plan… had finally begun.
