The wind at Starsnatch Cliff is stronger than anywhere else. Yet, it feels so gentle. By the time Kael and Lumine climbed to the very top, the sky had already grown dark. After they finished their meal, night had fully fallen. The two lay side by side on the soft grass, looking up at the starry sky. A quiet, unspoken comfort filled the air.
"By the way, Kael..." Lumine suddenly spoke up. Her voice was soft. "What is your world actually like?"
My world? Kael was caught off guard by the question. Come to think of it, his memories were a bit fuzzy. It was as if he could not remember anything about his original world.
At Kael's place, Furina blinked her big eyes and asked in confusion, "Hey, my dear neighbor. Don't tell me you have even forgotten your own world?"
The corner of Kael's mouth twitched. Is this girl a reporter digging for every last detail? Of course, Kael remembered everything about Earth. But during his reincarnation missions, he really could not take his memories with him. The rules stated that no memories from past lives would carry over. However, skills and comprehension would remain. Only after all the reincarnation missions were finished, when he returned to his current state, would everything be restored. This included all memories from the missions and every reward he earned.
"I am telling you, Lady Furina. That is from a past life. You do not actually expect me to remember it, do you? If you want to ask, you will have to ask the past version of me."
Wow, he really has a point. He really had a solid argument. Furina paused for a moment, then quickly laughed. "Right, right. But now I am really wondering. Will you and Lumine settle down in Mondstadt? Will you have boys, girls, or both?"
Kael: "....."
"Shut up! If you keep talking nonsense, I will make you have a baby before she does."
"Maybe I forgot for some reason when I first came to this world. I really cannot remember much."
Hearing Kael's answer, Lumine did not press the issue. They kept looking up at the night sky as a shooting star streaked across it. Lumine suddenly asked again, "Kael, what do you think of this world? What I mean is..."
Lumine hesitated, as if she was too shy to say it out loud.
Paimon: "Huh? Do not tell me Lumine plans to find Aether and then leave Teyvat with Kael."
Aether: "What! No way. Absolutely not. I hate reincarnators."
Tartaglia: "Is that the resentment of an older brother? As a brother myself, I get it. You cannot just let your siblings hang out with strangers."
Lisa: "Cannot you tell? That is exactly what she means. She wants to find her brother and then run away with Kael."
Lumine: "Hey, 'run away' is too harsh. We have not done anything wrong."
Navia: "But I heard that during your travels, you have been wanted by several nations."
Lumine: "....."
Lyney: "What an amazing traveler. She and Paimon have only visited five countries, yet they have been wanted so many times."
Paimon: "Lyney, what exactly do you mean by that?"
"I really do not know." Kael looked completely clueless. "Come to think of it, this is the first time I have ever left my little corner of the world."
Huh?
Lumine suddenly rolled over. She propped her pretty face up and looked Kael right in the eyes as he lay on the grass. "So what you are saying is..."
"Yeah. Coming out here with you is the farthest I have ever traveled." Kael gave an awkward smile. "Before this, I just wandered around my little hut. And that house actually used to belong to Hilichurls. After I chased them away, I fixed the place up a bit."
Lumine: "Alright, alright. Just how much drama is there between you and the Hilichurls? You steal their food, and now I find out you stole their house too."
Lisa: "Later on, he actually tried talking to them. And he succeeded. The more I watch, the cuter Kael seems."
Lumine: "Oh really? Then I will gladly hand him over to you."
Lisa: "I would love that. But I am worried someone might change her mind later and start crying."
Lumine: "I definitely will not."
Hearing this, Lumine could not help but show a slightly proud smile. It was as if she had just won a major victory in some unspoken contest. Kael did not quite get what Lumine was trying to say. But as a man, he still sat up and patted his chest. "Do not worry. Even though this is my first long trip, I promise I will help you find your brother. It is a promise."
Shameless outsider. Abyss Order. Aether was completely stunned. His sister was so naive. She stood no chance against Kael when it came to romance. Does not remember his old world? Did he also lose his memory when he arrived in Teyvat? It was clearly a trick to gain sympathy while acting tough.
Aether: "That despicable reincarnator. He is playing hard to get. Lumine is so pure. She will definitely fall for his tricks."
Mona: "A promise made under a starry night sky? That really does sound heart-fluttering."
Lisa: "Hmm... Kael is actually pretty smooth..."
Furina: "These two need to stop dragging this out and showing off their romance. At this point, who cares about finding a brother? Settling down, getting married, and having kids is what matters."
Aether: "You! Where did this barbarian come from?"
Furina: "???"
Lisa: "But there is one thing that worries me now."
Jean: "Lisa, what are you worried about now?"
Lisa: "Based on what Kael said, he has never traveled far. He probably has not seen much of the world. If he really comes to Mondstadt, we have so many wonderful girls here. There is a lovely nun, and quite an impressive female knight."
Jean: "Huh?"
Eula: "Hmph! What nonsense are you talking about?"
Fischl: "I see. A battle for the reincarnator. In that case, my fated rival, draw your sword."
Furina: "Huh? I did not expect the plot to get this tense and exciting."
Lumine: "You are all crazy. I think you have all lost your minds."
Paimon: "Stay strong, Lumine. If it really comes to that, we absolutely cannot back down."
