Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

Kael: "I swear, I didn't see anything."

The scene on the light screen left everyone stunned. Kael had actually just carried Lumine away on his shoulder. No one knew where they were going.

Charlotte: "This is definitely big news. A Reincarnator runs into an unconscious Traveler and carries her off like a kidnapping."

Lumine: "Please don't make it sound so scary."

Paimon: "Oh no, the Traveler got carried away. What about me? I haven't even shown up yet."

Clorinde: "I'm curious about one thing, Paimon. Are you and the Traveler always together?"

Paimon: "Ever since we met, we've been inseparable."

Ningguang: "If that's the case, there must have been a time before you two met. Maybe this scene takes place before that."

Lumine: "Huh? Does that mean I'm going to miss meeting Paimon?"

Paimon: "No way. Your memory is still all messed up right now. Without my guidance, how will you handle what comes next?"

Venti: "Don't always think the worst. Maybe you just haven't reached the time you meet yet."

Paimon: "That's true. After all, I met the Traveler two months after she woke up."

Starfell Valley, Mondstadt.

In the woods, there was a finely crafted wooden house. Light spilled out from the room. Inside the room, powered by electro crystals, the room was brightly lit.

"Mmm..."

Lying on the bed, Lumine let out a soft groan. She slowly woke up from the warm blankets.

"You're awake. Are you feeling any better?"

Lumine didn't process it right away. She just nodded out of habit. Holding her head, she still felt a bit dazed.

"I saw you drowning earlier, so I brought you home," Kael said softly.

So that's what happened. Lumine gently tapped her forehead.

"Thank you..."

The words of gratitude had just left her mouth. But the next second, a cool breeze blew into the blankets, making her skin feel unusually bare. Lumine's face instantly turned red. Only then did she realize her clothes were hanging on the windowsill.

"Ah!"

She let out an unconscious scream. Lumine gripped the blanket tightly and stammered, "You, you, you, you..."

Right after, Kael's anxious explanation reached her ears. Kael held out his arm, opened his palm, and said seriously, "I swear to the heavens, I only saw your clothes were soaked. I was afraid you'd catch a cold, so I took the liberty. Of course, I kept my eyes closed the entire time. I absolutely did not see anything I shouldn't have."

Abyss Order.

Aether stared blankly. A wave of anger built up in his chest.

"That damn Reincarnator. He actually did that to Lumine... Bastard! If I ever run into you, I'll kill you."

Even after facing countless storms during his travels, anger still made the usually calm Prince of the Abyss lose his mind. If not for the Viewing System's rules, Aether would send Abyss Heralds to search all of Teyvat for Kael right now. It was about Lumine's reputation. Kael really deserved to die.

Paimon: "Oh no, the Traveler is going to faint. Neuvillette, come help!"

Neuvillette: "It's not really appropriate for me to step in. Where is Furina?"

Furina: "Oh my, oh my. It's not that big of a deal for the Traveler."

Lumine: "Bastard! Is Kael in the live chat? Get out here and explain yourself!"

Jean: "It doesn't feel great, but the Reincarnator really was looking out for the Traveler."

Lisa: "He's a gentle boy, you know."

Kael's home.

Furina's eyes sparkled with excitement. Acting like it had nothing to do with her, she smiled. "The Traveler is looking for you. Want to reply to her?"

Reply to her? If I reply now, won't I just get scolded to pieces?

"She's crazy! I didn't expect myself to do that to her in this cycle either. Besides, wasn't I just doing it for her own good?"

Furina rubbed her chin and thought for a moment. She felt Kael had a point.

"That's true. You mean well, but girls will definitely have a strong reaction to something like this. She'll be fine once she calms down."

Didn't see anything he shouldn't have? But he definitely had to touch her to take the clothes off, right? Lumine felt suffocated. But deep down, she knew Kael only meant well. An awkward silence fell over the room. Finally, Lumine's stomach let out two loud gurgle sounds.

Whoosh!

Lumine's already red face turned even redder.

"You must be starving," Kael said as he walked to the window. "Your clothes are still wet. I don't have any spare clothes here either."

He thought for a few seconds. Kael said, "I'll just bring the food to you. Eat in bed for now. Don't come down yet. Once you're full, we can talk things over properly."
