Chapter 9 - Chapter 9

From Starfell Valley to Mondstadt.

It should only take a few days.

But thanks to Kael and Lumine, it took them over half a month.

Along the way, they experienced plenty of fun things.

They admired Mondstadt's scenery and felt the city's free winds.

They tried stealing food from Hilichurls, only to get chased the whole way by Hilichurls wielding clubs and shields.

Kael didn't step in to take them out.

It was like they were deliberately enjoying the thrill.

They ran until they were out of breath, but smiles never left their faces.

When night fell.

Kael even built a special wooden bathtub for Lumine.

He boiled water in an iron pot looted from a Hilichurl camp and poured it into the tub for her bath.

"You're not allowed to peek."

That was Lumine's order to Kael.

"Also, you can't wander more than five meters away."

"If monsters attack me, I won't be able to handle them."

Yae Miko: "Tsk tsk tsk. Their relationship is getting closer and closer. The only pity is we can't see them sleeping together."

Arataki Itto: "You already said they're sleeping at night. What else could they do?"

Kuki Shinobu: "Boss, if you don't get it, just stay out of it."

Charlotte: "We're already taking notes. We're planning to publish a newspaper article: 'The Traveler and the Reincarnator: A Romantic Journey Through Mondstadt.'"

Yae Miko: "Lumine, dear, I should have taught you this, right? Just follow me. Three, two, one... One, two, three..."

Ying'er: "Hehe, I don't think she needs teaching. When she came to me for perfumes before, she showed real talent."

Lisa: "So Lumine is already so experienced. I thought if she wanted to learn humbly, I could teach her more, little cutie."

Lumine: "Hey! What nonsense are you three talking about?! Aaaaaah... I'm going crazy..."

Furina: "???"

Paimon: "Lumine, calm down..."

They wasted a few more days.

In the distance, the main city of Mondstadt finally came into view.

"Lumine, there's a statue over there. I touched one like it last time and gained Elemental Power."

"You should try it too."

Kael pointed to the Statue of The Seven nearby.

But Lumine hesitated. "Let's forget it. I've tried several times already. It probably won't work this time either."

Kael ignored her hesitation, took her hand, and walked toward the statue.

"It's just a touch. There's nothing to lose."

Hearing his words, Lumine finally nodded.

The moment her palm touched the Statue of The Seven.

The statue suddenly glowed brightly.

A second later, a sphere glowing with green light flew toward her and instantly merged into her body.

"Huh?"

"It seems it worked."

Lumine felt the Anemo power around her. She focused it slightly, and a green wind sphere appeared in her hand.

"It really worked."

Lumine looked at Kael with joy. "Thank you, Kael. If it weren't for you, I might have given up long ago."

"From now on, I won't need to rely only on you for protection."

"That's such a shame." Kael shook his head, pretending to be troubled.

Lumine blinked in confusion. "What's wrong?"

"Does that mean I won't be able to sit five meters away and guard you while you bathe anymore?"

Hearing this.

Lumine's face instantly turned bright red.

She lightly tapped Kael and said softly, "You're so annoying. You only know how to tease me."

Cough!

Abyss Order.

Aether felt his chest churn violently.

If he couldn't hold it back, he was about to spit out a mouthful of blood.

Judging by what the screen was showing.

His sister no longer had a strong desire to find him.

"It's all Kael's fault."

Aether clenched his fists tightly.

As if noticing his leader's distress.

The Abyss Herald below him suddenly spoke. "Prince, there's no need to be angry."

"Based on my analysis, given the current timeline Kael is in, a Dragon Disaster will likely strike soon."

"With your wisdom and strength, dealing with the Reincarnator will be a piece of cake."

Dragon disaster?

Aether paused.

Looking at the timeline, if no other accidents happened during the cycle, Mondstadt would inevitably face Dvalin's attack.

And for Aether, having learned some truths, he naturally understood the meaning of Teyvat's cycle.

Aside from Kael being a variable in Teyvat, other events shouldn't change.

"Mm! You're right."

Aether praised the Abyss Herald's words.

"When the time comes, I will make sure he dies under Dvalin's claws."
