Chapter 10 - The Silent Truth

After learning about the hidden door—

Vivek didn't wait.

He walked straight to the place

where all the members of Gitanjali Society were gathered.

Everyone looked at him.

Confused.

Serious.

Vivek spoke firmly—

"Do any of you know about a hidden door in this society?"

Silence.

People looked at each other.

Then one by one—

they started answering.

"No…"

"There's nothing like that here…"

"We've never seen any secret door…"

Murmurs spread.

"Maybe it doesn't even exist," someone said.

Vivek stood still.

His eyes scanning every face.

They weren't just confused.

Some of them were scared.

But one thing was clear—

no one was telling the truth.

Vivek took a step forward.

"It exists," he said calmly.

"But you don't want to talk about it."

Silence again.

No one responded.

Vivek didn't push further.

Because now—

he didn't need their words.

He needed proof.

He turned to his team.

"I want CCTV footage of every corner of this society."

"Every camera. Every angle."

Within an hour—

the footage was ready.

Vivek sat down.

Eyes fixed on the screen.

Watching carefully.

Studying everything.

Entrances.

Corridors.

Walls.

Corners.

Nothing was ignored.

Minutes passed.

Then more.

Still—

nothing.

No door.

No hidden passage.

No clue.

Vivek leaned back slightly.

"This can't be…" he murmured.

If the door existed—

it had to appear somewhere.

Unless—

it was hidden in a way

no one would ever notice.

Vivek's eyes narrowed.

He moved closer to the screen again.

Replaying the footage.

Slower this time.

Carefully.

Looking not for something visible—

but for something unusual.

Something that didn't fit.

Because sometimes—

the truth isn't what you see…

it's what you almost miss.

And somewhere in that footage—

the hidden door was waiting to be noticed.

Vivek kept watching the footage.

Again.

And again.

Slower this time.

Carefully.

Looking for something…

that didn't belong.

Then—

his eyes stopped.

Something felt off.

On the floor.

A corner of the society.

Small.

Easy to ignore.

But different.

Vivek leaned closer.

"That's not right…" he murmured.

Without wasting a second—

he stood up.

"Come with me," he ordered.

He rushed to that exact spot.

A corner filled with discarded materials.

Old furniture.

Broken items.

Dust.

As if no one had touched it for years.

Vivek looked at it carefully.

Then—

"Clear everything," he said.

His team started removing the junk.

One by one.

Until the floor was visible.

Vivek stepped forward.

His eyes narrowed.

The surface looked different.

Slightly uneven.

He bent down.

And knocked.

A hollow sound echoed.

Different.

Not like solid ground.

Vivek's expression changed.

"There it is…" he whispered.

"A hidden door."

Silence spread.

The team looked at each other.

Vivek tried to open it.

But—

it didn't move.

Locked.

He turned immediately.

"The key," he said sharply.

"To the guard."

The guard shook his head nervously.

"Sir… I don't have it."

Vivek's eyes hardened.

"Don't lie."

"I'm not, sir!" the guard insisted.

Vivek didn't trust him.

He walked straight to the guard's cabin.

Checked everything.

Drawers.

Shelves.

Boxes.

Nothing.

He stopped.

For a moment—

just thinking.

Then slowly—

he turned.

The guard was telling the truth.

Which meant—

the key to this door… was somewhere else.

Vivek stepped back from the hidden door.

His eyes moved toward the crowd.

"Does anyone have the key to this door?" he asked.

Silence.

People shook their heads.

"No…"

"We don't know anything…"

"There is no key…"

Same answers.

Same fear.

Vivek's jaw tightened.

Then—

one of the officers stepped forward.

"Sir…"

Vivek looked at him.

The officer hesitated for a second—

then said—

"Maybe… the key we found earlier…"

A pause.

"…it's connected to this door."

Silence.

Vivek froze.

His mind instantly went back—

Sara's bathroom.

The hidden key.

Without wasting a second—

he took it out.

His eyes fixed on the lock.

Slowly—

he moved closer.

For a moment—

everything went still.

Then—

he inserted the key.

A second passed.

Then—

click.

The door unlocked.

Everyone froze.

No one spoke.

Because something impossible—

had just happened.

The same key.

The one hidden in Sara's house.

Opened this door.

Vivek's expression turned serious.

"This was never a coincidence…" he whispered.

Because this door—

was meant to be opened.

Vivek looked at his team.

"Half of you stay here," he ordered.

"Keep an eye on everyone."

His voice turned serious—

"No one leaves."

The officers nodded.

Vivek turned toward the hidden door.

Then—

slowly stepped inside.

A few officers followed him.

The moment they entered—

the door closed behind them.

A cold silence filled the space.

It was dark.

Narrow.

As if this place was never meant to be found.

Vivek moved forward carefully.

Each step echoing.

Then—

they reached the end.

Another door.

Stronger.

More secure.

Vivek stepped closer.

"This doesn't end easily…" he murmured.

He examined the lock.

Not a key.

A password system.

He exhaled slowly.

"Of course…" he said.

He started trying combinations.

The first thought—

Lilly's locker code.

447683

He entered it.

A second passed.

Then—

error.

The door didn't open.

Vivek frowned.

"That's not it…" he whispered.

His mind started racing again.

"If not Lilly's code…" he said slowly,

"then what?"

Silence surrounded them.

The answer was close.

But not clear.

Yet.

Because this door—

was protecting something even bigger.

Vivek stepped out of the hidden passage.

His face was tense.

Frustration clearly visible.

He walked straight toward the society members.

"Password," he said sharply.

"Who knows it?"

Silence.

People looked at each other.

Then—

same answers again.

"No…"

"We don't know anything…"

"We've never seen that door…"

Vivek's patience snapped.

"Enough!" he shouted.

Everyone froze.

His voice echoed through the society.

"Every time—"

"Every single time—"

"A new lie!"

His eyes burned with anger.

"You all know about that hidden door!"

A pause.

"But you're still hiding it!"

People stepped back.

Fear spreading across their faces.

"You live here!" Vivek continued.

"And yet you expect me to believe—"

"That you don't know what happened to Lilly?"

His voice dropped—

but it was even more dangerous now.

"And the others who died here…"

Silence.

Vivek looked at them one by one.

"I don't believe it."

His fists clenched.

"You're hiding something."

A long pause.

"And I'm going to find out what it is."

Because now—

this wasn't just an investigation—

it was a confrontation.

But even after that—

no one spoke.

Everyone stood there—

silent.

As if fear had sealed their voices.

Vivek watched them for a moment.

Then he turned away.

Because now—

he knew.

The truth wouldn't come from them.

That night—

Vivek sat on his bed.

The room was quiet.

But his mind wasn't.

It was filled with questions.

The hidden door.

The password.

Sara.

Lilly.

And the people of Gitanjali Society.

"Why are they hiding this?" he murmured.

"They all know something…"

His eyes narrowed.

"But what?"

He leaned back slowly.

Trying to connect everything again.

The diary.

The code.

The letter.

"There has to be a pattern…" he whispered.

"Something I'm still missing…"

Silence filled the room.

But this time—

it felt different.

Because somewhere—

very close—

the answer was waiting.

Because somewhere in all these lies…

the truth was waiting to be unlocked.

And once he finds the password—

there will be no turning back.
