Chapter 9 - Sara's letter

Vivek didn't stop.

Not after coming this far.

He picked up the diary again.

If Sara had hidden something—

it had to be here.

He started reading once more.

Carefully.

Looking for anything unusual.

Then—

his eyes stopped.

An entry.

Different from the rest.

Short.

Strange.

And right in the middle of it—

a set of numbers.

447683

Vivek frowned.

"What is this supposed to mean…?" he murmured.

He looked closer.

Next to the numbers—

Sara had written something.

"If anyone understands this…"

A pause.

"…it will help them a lot."

Silence filled the room.

Vivek's expression changed.

This wasn't random.

This was intentional.

A message.

A key.

But not the one he was holding.

A different kind of key.

Vivek leaned back slowly.

"Think…" he whispered.

"Numbers always mean something."

His mind started racing again.

Dates?

Codes?

Coordinates?

But nothing fit.

Yet.

Vivek looked at the numbers once more.

447683

And this time—

he knew one thing for sure—

this was the next step.

Because if he could decode those numbers—

he would be closer to the truth than ever before.

Vivek stared at the numbers again.

447683

Then—

his mind shifted.

The key.

The lock.

"Something far from it…" he murmured.

A sudden thought struck him.

Lilly.

Her house.

Vivek's eyes widened.

"I didn't check it…" he said under his breath.

The next morning—

he rushed to Gitanjali Society.

He went straight to the guard.

"I need the key to Lilly's flat."

The guard hesitated for a moment—

then handed it over.

Vivek walked toward the flat.

The door stood closed.

Silent.

He unlocked it.

As soon as the door opened—

a dusty smell rushed out.

As if no one had entered that place for years.

Vivek stepped inside slowly.

Everything felt still.

Frozen in time.

He began searching.

Room after room.

Opening every door.

Checking every corner.

But then—

he stopped.

One door remained closed.

Lilly's room.

Vivek checked the keychain.

No key for it.

His eyes narrowed.

"That's strange…" he murmured.

Then—

another thought hit him.

He quickly took out the key—

the one he had found in Sara's bathroom.

For a moment—

he just stared at it.

Then slowly—

he inserted it into the lock.

A second passed.

Then—

click.

The door opened.

Vivek froze.

His heartbeat quickened.

"So this is where it belongs…" he whispered.

But his expression soon changed.

Confusion.

Because one question hit him instantly—

Why was Lilly's room key… hidden in Sara's bathroom?

Because this wasn't just a connection—

it was a secret both of them shared.

Vivek stepped inside the room.

Silence.

Complete silence.

The air felt heavy.

As if the room had been hiding something for a long time.

He moved forward slowly.

His eyes scanning everything.

Then—

he saw it.

A locker.

Placed in the corner.

Old.

But secure.

Vivek walked toward it.

He tried opening it.

Locked.

A password.

He exhaled sharply.

"Of course…" he muttered.

He started trying combinations.

Dates.

Names.

Patterns.

Nothing worked.

Minutes passed.

Then hours.

Frustration started building.

"This has to be something simple…" he said.

Then suddenly—

something clicked in his mind.

The diary.

The numbers.

447683

Vivek froze.

"That's it…" he whispered.

He quickly entered the code.

For a moment—

nothing happened.

Then—

click.

The locker opened.

Vivek's heartbeat quickened.

He slowly opened it.

Inside—

there was only one thing.

A letter.

He picked it up carefully.

His hands slightly tense.

Then he opened it.

And his eyes stopped—

on the first line.

It was written by Sara.

Vivek held the letter firmly.

Then—

he began reading.

"I know someone will come here one day… and read this."

My name is Sara.

I live in Flat No. 52.

Just an ordinary girl.

But ever since I entered Gitanjali Society…

something has felt very strange."

Vivek's eyes moved quickly.

"The environment here is not normal."

There is fear… silence… and something hidden."

One day, a man warned me to leave this society."

He said there is a curse."

The Curse of Lilly."

Vivek's expression hardened.

"I asked him about it."

And he told me the story."

But I couldn't believe it completely."

Was it really a curse…?"

Or was there something else behind it?"

Vivek leaned closer.

"I got curious."

I wanted to know the truth."

So I started my own investigation."

I kept asking for the keys to Lilly's house…"

But the guard refused every time."

That made me even more suspicious."

A pause.

"Then one day… I found something strange."

A hidden door… somewhere inside Gitanjali Society."

Vivek froze.

"I don't know what's behind it…"

But I know one thing—"

It is connected to Lilly."

To her disappearance."

And to everything that is happening here."

The air felt heavier.

"So I am writing this letter…"

For the one who finds it."

If you are reading this—"

then you are already close to the truth."

Find that hidden door."

It holds the biggest mystery."

Not just of Lilly…"

But of this entire society."

Vivek's grip tightened.

"If you have found this letter…"

then you can also find the door."

And it will lead you to a new path in your investigation."

The writing became slightly shaky.

"Today… I stole the keychain from the guard."

I don't know if this is right…"

But I have to know the truth."

Now… I will hide this letter somewhere safe."

So that it can be found… when the time is right."

The letter ended.

Silence filled the room.

Vivek slowly lowered the paper.

Because Sara didn't just leave a message—

she left a path.

Vivek slowly lowered the letter.

Sara's words still echoed in his mind.

The hidden door.

The truth.

Everything was right in front of him—

yet still out of reach.

He took a deep breath.

His eyes filled with determination.

Then—

he whispered—

"I have to find that door."

A pause.

His grip tightened.

Because somewhere inside Gitanjali Society…

the truth was waiting.

Because this time—

he wasn't just chasing a mystery…

he was getting closer to the truth.
