Chapter 39 - – Journey to Mondstadt

Ren Kai showed an interested expression.

Mondstadt… that was the territory of the drunken bard.

"In that case, I'll go personally."

Ren Kai said with a smile.

He was curious what Mondstadt looked like in this era anyway. It was a good opportunity to take a look.

"That would be wonderful."

"When will you depart, Mr. Madara?"

Mingyun smiled with relief.

If Mr. Madara personally took action, they could definitely open a safe trade route.

"This afternoon."

"The sooner we go, the sooner we return."

Ren Kai replied seriously.

Seeing how anxious Mingyun had been earlier, it was clear the Feiyun Commerce Guild's growth had already hit a bottleneck.

"Alright."

"I'll arrange a team to wait outside your residence immediately."

Mingyun said happily before leaving with Uncle Fu.

"Hehe, I want to go too."

Three heads popped out from Qiqi and little Yae's room, peeking into the hall.

The one speaking was little Yae, her eyes sparkling.

"Qiqi wants to go too."

Qiqi said adorably.

"Why not send me instead?"

Akatong walked in from outside the hall and spoke seriously.

"Someone has to stay and watch the house."

"I'll go alone this time."

Ren Kai rejected all three without hesitation.

Then he went to the backyard and lay down in the reclining chair again.

Qiqi and little Yae wanted to protest.

But Guizhong quickly dragged them back into the room.

Akatong obediently returned to his own room.

After all, the residence's safety depended on him.

"Why can't we go?"

Little Yae crossed her arms and asked Guizhong.

"Yes, why can't we go?"

Qiqi copied her posture.

"Mondstadt isn't that simple."

"If you go, you'll only hold him back."

"So stay home and train."

Guizhong flicked both girls on the forehead.

"Ow!"

"That hurts!"

Qiqi and little Yae cried out at the same time.

Meanwhile—

Ren Kai comfortably slept in the reclining chair.

When he woke up, it was already three in the afternoon.

He rubbed his eyes and looked at the sun.

"Alright."

"Time to go."

"Mondstadt… here I come."

Ren Kai walked out of the residence.

Outside the gate stood a Feiyun Commerce Guild convoy—twenty people in total.

Uncle Fu was leading them.

"Mr. Madara has arrived."

"Please get in the carriage."

Uncle Fu said while standing beside a luxurious carriage.

"Haha, Uncle Fu is leading the team?"

"And you even prepared such a fancy carriage."

Ren Kai laughed.

"We were afraid of neglecting you."

"With you leading the convoy, Mr. Madara, we'll definitely return with a full haul."

"So I brought plenty of funds."

Uncle Fu grinned.

After learning to extract chakra over the past few days, his body had grown stronger, and he even looked a bit younger.

"Alright then."

"Let's depart."

Ren Kai said enthusiastically as he stepped onto the carriage.

"Move out!"

Uncle Fu sat beside the driver and shouted energetically.

The convoy began its journey.

Destination—Mondstadt.

Inside the carriage, Ren Kai was amused.

They had literally placed a bed inside for him.

And beneath the bed were stacks of food.

Mingyun and Uncle Fu had truly prepared the highest possible treatment.

Ren Kai lay down on the small bed and fell asleep.

Even the carriage's bumps couldn't disturb his rest.

Within Liyue's territory, the roads were peaceful.

This was thanks to the adepti, the Yaksha, and the Millelith.

Every road was constantly patrolled to ensure safety.

After traveling for more than three hours, the convoy reached the Liyue border.

There they encountered a Millelith checkpoint.

The soldiers were inspecting travelers and carriages.

"You're from the Feiyun Commerce Guild?"

"This road isn't safe."

"You know that."

"Are you sure you want to go to Mondstadt?"

The Millelith squad captain warned kindly.

After all, the previous Feiyun team had suffered heavy casualties.

"Yes."

"We're certain."

Uncle Fu replied firmly.

"Then we'll conduct the inspection."

The captain nodded.

A Millelith soldier approached Ren Kai's carriage.

"That carriage cannot be inspected."

Uncle Fu quickly ran over to stop him.

"Why not?"

The soldier immediately became serious.

The other Millelith soldiers also entered a defensive stance.

"It's fine."

"Let them inspect."

Ren Kai lifted the curtain and stepped out of the carriage.

"It's the True Martial Emperor!"

The squad captain immediately recognized him.

"Salute!"

All the Millelith soldiers bowed.

"No need for formalities."

"I highly respect the Millelith."

"Please continue your inspection."

"I will cooperate."

Ren Kai said calmly.

"My apologies."

"We didn't realize the True Martial Emperor was present."

"Men, let them pass!"

The captain saluted.

"As you trust us, we trust you as well."

His voice carried clear excitement.

"Interesting."

"What's your name?"

Ren Kai asked.

"My name is Panwu."

The captain answered proudly.

"Good name."

"When I return, I'll grant you an opportunity."

Ren Kai smiled before returning to the carriage.

"Move out!"

Uncle Fu gave the order and flashed Panwu a meaningful smile.

Panwu was so excited he nearly lost his composure.

Such an opportunity had come too suddenly.

Soon, the convoy passed the checkpoint.

Before long, they entered the forest.

They stopped briefly in an open clearing to rest.

"Mr. Madara."

"According to the previous team's report, they were attacked near the snow mountain."

"Should we take another route?"

Uncle Fu asked.

"No need."

"Take the fastest path."

Ren Kai replied calmly.

What road could possibly make Madara detour?

If necessary, he'd simply flatten the entire snow mountain.

"Understood!"

Uncle Fu laughed.

With Mr. Madara present, he felt completely at ease.

After resting, the convoy continued.

As they traveled deeper into the mountains, strange noises occasionally echoed through the forest under the night sky.

It would have frightened most people.

But this convoy had a demon-god-level figure among them.

Everyone remained confident.

Who would dare provoke the True Martial Emperor?

"Hrrr! Hrrr!"

A group of wild boars suddenly burst out from the forest.

Their charging footsteps shook the ground.

"A bunch of boars dares challenge us?"

"Men, attack!"

Uncle Fu drew his sword and charged first.

Several guards followed immediately.

Facing the demonized boars, Uncle Fu showed impressive courage.

One slash—

One boar dead.

In less than twenty seconds, more than a dozen demonized boars lay lifeless.

Uncle Fu sheathed his sword stylishly.

The guards erupted into applause and praise.
