Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: Wings

When Godzilla saw that fortress, he didn't want to bother with the humans of that world.

Godzilla had no great desire for destruction, nor was he a naughty child who would ruin the 'toys' that others had painstakingly created.

Godzilla merely glanced at the fortress before turning and leaving.

How the humans of that other world developed in this world had nothing to do with him.

And seeing that those humans had only built a fortress and had not spread further, Godzilla knew that human development in this world was not going smoothly.

Because this world was teeming with massive monsters, and ordinary weapons hitting those monsters were about as effective as a tickle.

And more powerful weapons couldn't kill all of the monsters.

Not to mention those smaller, yet even more deadly Creaturess.

Just building a single fortress must have cost an immense amount of manpower and resources!

If it weren't for the fact that the humans from the other world had discovered plants in this world that could slow cell aging and strengthen the human body, they would have given up on this world long ago.

As for the monster carcasses, they hadn't yet figured out anything significant from them.

However, even with the temptation of a longer lifespan, it couldn't make humans expand their territory further in this world.

The military budget of the other world had increased several times, all to research weapons that could better kill those monsters.

Of course, if they could avoid damaging the terrain, that would be even better.

After all, they needed the special plants of this world.

Godzilla's appearance, one could say, made everyone in the fortress's heart skip a beat.

One must know, there was nothing in the fortress that could kill such a gigantic monster!

Fortunately, that monster had no interest in the fortress and left.

It wasn't until Godzilla left that the people on the fortress realized their backs were completely soaked.

But speaking of which, the commander of the fortress always felt that the monster that had only shown its head and then left looked a bit familiar?

The commander took out an album from his drawer, which contained images of all monsters over fifty meters that had been discovered.

And on the first page, there was a monster estimated to be at least one hundred meters tall.

Its appearance was exactly the same as the monster that had just appeared!

"Monster Zero --- does it really exist?"

In the town enveloped by the mist, which was first invaded by this world's Creaturess, many people claimed to have witnessed a terrifying monster with their own eyes.

Initially, no one paid attention to their words, dismissing them as hallucinations caused by fear.

But as more and more people claimed to have seen a giant monster, and their descriptions were strikingly consistent.

And after giant footprints, clearly larger than those of other Creaturess, were indeed found in the town, they finally took those people's words seriously.

But regarding such a huge monster, they still had doubts.

Because the largest monster they had discovered so far was at most seventy-something meters tall.

A monster over one hundred meters tall?

How could that be?

Until today, when that monster truly appeared before their eyes, they had no choice but to believe the facts.

But what followed was immense panic.

Such a huge monster, apart from the ultimate weapon, there was probably no other weapon that could kill it!

He immediately picked up the phone on the table and made a call to his superiors.

Since signals couldn't enter this world, they could only run wires to communicate.

Although his position as a front-line commander was a plum assignment, he now wanted to resign; it was simply too dangerous.

Of course, this was just a thought.

The benefits to be gained from this world were too great, more important than his life, and he didn't want to leave easily.

His call was to urge for weapons, and if he could get a few nuclear bombs, that would be even better.

--- The unexpected discovery of the connection point between two worlds surprised Godzilla.

He didn't expect his luck to be so good; he had only been in this world for a few months, right?

However, even finding the connection point between the two worlds didn't help Godzilla in any way.

It was less useful than discovering a larger, previously unseen monster.

After leaving the valley, Godzilla roamed this world for several more months before finally leaving it.

He had been to most places in this world, and there was no need to stay any longer.

The place he returned to his own world was the ocean he had left from.

And upon returning, Godzilla was still in the water, so he didn't need to change his form again.

Although the environments of the two worlds made no difference to Godzilla.

However, this world gave him a strange sense of comfort.

It felt like coming home.

Upon returning to his own world, Godzilla did not continue to wander around, but instead lay down directly on the seabed in his original spot.

He had collected so much material in the previous world, and he needed to organize it well.

Although he might not use all of those materials, there were always some small surprises.

Actually, what Godzilla wanted most was a pair of wings.

But the problem was, with his immense size, to fly, his wings would have to be very large, and the muscles for flapping them would need to be extremely strong.

Most importantly, Godzilla found that he didn't seem to need flying skills at all.

He only wanted to fly to better hunt prey.

But the enemies Godzilla had encountered could not escape the lock of his Atomic Breath.

Even airborne units, under the lock of the Atomic Breath, would fall one after another.

Godzilla's aim was still quite good.

However, even if it was useless, the ability to fly with wings was enough for Godzilla to want to develop them.

He hadn't thought of it before because he had been swimming in the water and walking on Land, and it hadn't occurred to him in the short term.

But when Godzilla saw Bird-like creatures in the other world that were not small in size and could fly, he wanted to get a pair of wings for himself too!

And after a series of efforts, Godzilla acquired a pair of huge bat-like wings with a wingspan of at least five hundred meters!

These bat-like wings could be folded and tucked behind Godzilla, appearing like two black rod-shaped objects pressed against his body.

But once unfurled, they were enough to blot out the sky.

And if necessary, these wings could even serve as a shield to block some attacks.

But while these wings were created, whether they could actually fly became an unknown.

And experimenting was quite simple.

So, after modifying his body once again, Godzilla surfaced.
