Just like everyday, well everyday for me but for my clan mates I only showed up once a month, giving the reason being my job takes up all the time I had giving me only once a month to hop on and play around with them.
Now sitting in the guild hall it was all but empty with everyone in the time of 5 years leaving the game to live there lives for good.
I wasn't one of the founding members of [Ains Ooal Gown] in fact I only got lucky really, I was on the run from a bunch of human PKr's when I was saved by my future friend Touch Me where we became quick friends leading me to get to know him and Ainz Ooal Gown.
I won't get into the details but over the course of the first month of me in the dimensional shop which was over more than two years for them I eventually was finally invited into the Guild as the 42nd member.
And so over all that time we had plenty of fun playing together, going on dungeon raids, boss fights and fighting other major guilds at that.
But as time passed more and more members of the guild began to leave the game over time and in the end it was just Momonga who I would see constantly every single time to run the guild that he loves with all of his friends slowly leaving.
Now it was mainly just me and him with a few others coming around still but basically no one was left, though surprisingly there were a few faces I hadn't seen in a long time suddenly appear before me.
"Buku! Pero! I thought you guys were both done for good with this game!" I said surprised seeing these two show up as they both stopped playing roughly a year ago in their worlds time but it's only been two weeks for me.
"Orion! Momonga said you were one of the few guys left here in this old place, how has that shop been working for you? Still being a wage slave to that place?" Pero said as he and the rest new I'd always be gone for a full month before being able to come back and join everyone with playing and using several days I had off, in there eyes, in order to catch up with everyone.
"Well I will have you know that I've finally moved up in the world, now I'm the new manager at my shop." I said with a smug look on my face.
"Well good for you Orion." Buku says as she pulls herself up onto her seat with Pero taking a seat beside her.
"Speaking of which, where is Momo anyway? He should know we are here right?" Pero said looking around before Momonga finally appears within the guild meeting room.
"Pero! Buku! I didn't think you guys would be able to make it!" Momonga said with clear happiness, even though his voice barely fluctuates in doing so.
"Well I did have a new eroge game I was planning on playing, but then sis here mentioned to me that Yggdrasil was shutting down and you reached out to her to see if we could come in one last time, sorry about not getting back to you Momo but I thought it was better as a surprise!" He said only for Buku to point at him.
"No you didn't, I had to drag you away from that game and even use my voice acting skills to bring your horn dog mind in check so you could come along with me in the first place!" She says to which Pero shivered while holding his arms.
"Please for the love of god never go 'Ara Ara' in a cutesy voice ever again, hearing that just gives me the chills." He said as he has almost went all in on one of the games his sister voiced acted in which instantly turned him off as a result.
Momonga knowing who Pero was didn't take it to heart that was the real reason he didn't respond, he was just happy some of his old guild mates had returned.
"Now as much as I'd love to keep chatting like this I could really use some clothes right now, you got anything to spare Momo?" Pero asks as right now he was only wearing a pair of shorts the game gives to characters who have no clothes or armor equipped.
"Actually I still have both of your old gear available in the treasury if you wanna take them back." Momonga said which surprised them both hearing their old gear was still around.
"Didn't I say it was fine for you go and sell off our stuff? I mean I didn't think we would be coming back after all." Pero said but Momonga just shook his head.
"I could never do that, all the items from everyone were gained from everyone in the guild, I couldn't in good conscience sell any of it off even if everyone was going to be gone for good." He said which made Pero awkwardly scratch the back of his head hearing that.
"Well…. Thanks for that Momo, it means a lot that you appreciated our friendship so much…." Too which Buku tentacle whips her brother in the back.
"And you left so suddenly back then because an eroge action rpg came out that you got addicted too in the first place, and I had to leave because of a big gaming project I had gotten pulled into, but since that finally came to an end and hearing from Momo what was happening I was able to drag my lousy brother back into the game." She said giving the full reason as to why both of them left the game in the first place.
Hearing this I just sighed, "That sounds typical of Pero to do, but anyway we are all back let's get you guys properly geared up." I said to which Momo gave them their own rings of Nazzarick which we all used to teleport down to the treasury.
Soon enough we saw the many satutues of every member of the guild made in there image, I even had my own statue and so did Momonga like everyone else but ours didn't have our equipment on them and probably never would.
Buku and Pero didn't ask as they realized it was Momonga just being sentimental about how far the guild had fallen from its golden age to its shape it was in now.
After getting back his gear Pero looked me up and down, "I'm pretty rusty at this so want to go off and do some monster hunting?" He asked me to which I just tilted my head.
"You do know we only have a few hours right? You planning on doing a dungeon dive when we don't have the time nor a fully balanced team?" As with the four of us we couldn't do any dungeon that would be a challenge for us with a party of two archers, a mage and Buku as the tank, and if we did something easy it would be way to one sided with the level difference after all.
"Pfft, fine fine, let's just go and check out nazzarick then, I don't have anything better to do anyway." He said brushing off the thought of going on a proper dungeon dive.
So with that everyone went to check on their creations that they made where as I went to the throne of kings with Momonga, "Are you sure this is fine?" Momonga asked me as we decided to edit Albedo's backstory.
"It's fine it's fine, Tabula can complain about this if he comes and sees it, but knowing him he doesn't care about this place anymore with him going out and living his life after all." I say coaxing Momonga who reluctantly agrees before changing her backstory up removing the extremely bitchy personality and made it so she loves Momonga.
"Wouldn't it be better if it was you instead?" He asks to which I shake my head.
"I already technically have NPC lovers if you include those Vampire Brides that I have that I wrote up being infatuated with my devilish good looks along with my personal NPC being the roaming Guardian of Nazzarick who is direct subordinate to me so I don't need to do any edits myself." I say as both Pero and Buku returned to the throne room as well.
"Man, what a trip down memory lane, you know I'm actually sad to see all of this go after the servers shut down." Pero said after spending sometime in his personal quarters and seeing his creation/daughter that being Shalltear.
"You know I feel a bit better after doing some edits of my own, I wrote up way to many fetishes that my creation had that I felt some of them were a bit much for me." Specfically he got rid of the incest fetish as he personally didn't find it as attractive anymore due to his sister ruining it for him by appearing in many different eroges he wanted to play only to lose interest when realizing she was in them.
"…. I couldn't go and see Aura and Mare because I remembered how I made them and I was too embarrassed to look back on my black history of how I made them." Not only that but even before she left she kept her distance from Aura and Mare because of what she did but didn't have the courage to go back and even try to change them due to her personal embarrassment.
"Well we only got a few minutes left so let's enjoy it the best we can, how about we take a group photo together." As this could very well be the last photo we have together.
I knew the story of Overlord so I knew this shouldn't be the end but with Pero and Buku showing up and not Herohero who was supposed to show up makes me doubt if this is a version of Yggdrasil where we are transported somewhere else in the first place or are we kicked out of the game.
So we grouped together and posed for the in game camera which took pictures of us in various different poses together.
"Hey Pero do you remember what this signal means?" I decided to mess around by clapping my hands giving the 'ok' symbol with my fingers before using my hand like a visor over my eyes.
"Easy, you said 'Your Underwear is Showing'" to that I just grin and we clapped our hands together before bumping fists and forearms together.
"You two really were the perverted duo of our guild." Buku says shaking her head at seeing our antics only for a alarm from the games system to chime.
[Yggdrasil Servers will be shutting down in 1 minute]
"So this is it…. It's really the end huh…" Momonga said with a sad tone in his voice.
"It's alright Momo, at least we had fun while it lasted, and at least we came together one last time." I said to him as the others nodded.
In return as we Stood together and watched the count down.
