After they pledge themselves to us Momonga had Sebas, the Head Butler of Nazarick see what's going on outside the tomb, and what he came back with was what I thought.
We found ourselves in the original New World that Overlord took place in the first place, so with us being in an open grassland wasn't conducive of the Great Tombs protection so Momonga had Mare begin to cover the tomb in dirt to hide it.
Albedo didn't like that but for the safety of Nazarick they let it happen, though when me, Momonga and Pero were in the guild meeting room I shook my head at this.
"I get the feeling that if we left the Tomb out in the open nothing would end up happening in the end." I say but Momonga looks at me.
"But you don't know for sure, I'm doing this for the safety of everyone in Nazarick, who knows if some unknown player or Boss Monster appears and attacks us." He says matter of factly.
"I understand where your getting at Momo but Orion's got a point, if this world isn't Yggdrasil but another world entirely then there's a good chance that we are considered overpowered in this world as a whole." Pero chimed in before leaning forward and looking at me curiously.
"Speaking of which, you said you had something to show us, something that could possibly allow Buku to have a human or at least a humanoid body of her own?" Pero said to which I nodded as I stood up.
"Do you guys remember the job I have?" I said before walking towards a nearby empty wall.
"Yeah, you were an employee at some shop and you recently just became the manager right?" Pero said to which I nodded before holding out my hand as a orb on a chain appeared and within the orb what appeared to be a galaxy floating inside it.
I placed the orb against the wall before suddenly a door appeared before them both, surprising them as they knew I didn't know any magical spells, but they realized it wasn't me but the now missing orb.
"Would you like to see my shop?" I asked them, but they seemed confused however I held up my hand.
"I know it sounds confusing but just come with me and you'll quickly understand." I say opening the door where a white void was all they saw before I walked right on inside.
They both looked at each other, but as I was their guild mate and close friend they soon followed after me.
The light was blinding when they passed through forcing to cover their eyes before they readjusted to the room but-
"?!?! My…. My hands! Their human again! My voice too! It's my voice!" Suddenly Momonga, now Satoru Suzuki, exclaimed as he had returned to his human form, now wearing a grey shirt and sweatpants he was wearing before he went to bed.
"Me-Me too! I'm human again!" Pero exclaimed as he was back in his human form as well with his feathers, beak and talons now gone as he was back in his casual house clothes as well.
"I made it so that anyone who entered that door with me would be forced back into their true form, now then gentlemen, welcome to my shop." I say with a smile as they looked over at me as I stood behind the counter.
"Orion? You look the same though?" Pero said confused but Momonga just held his chin.
"No, he's definitely different, his ears are rounded, the neatly combed hair is over his eyes, his eyes are brown and not red even his fangs are gone." He says to which I nodded.
"I actually made my character much closer to myself in real life, but where are my manners, Welcome to the Multiversal Shop where you can buy anything at the right price." I said giving my usual welcoming speech.
"A multiversal…. Shop?" Momonga seemed a bit confused about the term, not too surprising as he never went to college and had been working for a black company ever since he could, he didn't even finish highschool as he needed to work to help keep his old home Alcott before his mother passed due to over work.
"Oh wait! I know what that is! It's that theory about for every action you did or didn't do in your life, there's a version of yourself that did the opposite of what you did no matter how minute." Pero said as he actually was able to finish highschool and it was something he still remembered from science class as it was one of the few things he learned that stocked in his brain besides porn and doujins he enjoyed.
I snapped my fingers, "Correct, this store is one of many untold number of stores that connects to the multiverse as a whole, and over the last three months that I have had this job I've been playing Yggdrasil, but time flows differently here as an eight hour work shift along with everything I do before entering Yggdrasil in my sleep is be gone for a full month but you guys would see me playing for several days before going back to work, and that's because of the vast time differences between your world and the shop." I explain.
"But don't worry I've synced up this world and the shop together now at a 1 to 1 ratio." I say when I noticed the worried looks on their faces.
Hearing this they sigh in relief, though then Pero frowns, "Wait a minute, if this shop that you have been working at all this time exists outside our world, are you even from our world in the first place?" He asks to which I shake my head.
"I don't know if my Earth was your Earth as when I entered this shop it was only 2026 for me, but for you guys it's the year 2138, a whole years in the future compared to my time, my earth could maybe become your world in the future or it might not, that's how branching timelines work in the multiverse after all." I say shaking my head.
"But I doubt it as in my world Momonga your universe is a story that someone wrote up, however that was only their view of one timeline of your story, because for one thing when you were to be transported to the new world it's was to be you alone from our guild who came here with Nazarick in tow, though there is another version of you that was outside Nazarick when transported and had only your robes and your powers to help you, which would later down the line to form the New Ainz Ooal Gown, but the reality we live in because of my presence has diverged from those two time lines." I say holding up two fingers before holding up the third.
"And this third timeline we live in is new and unbound, besides the world that we now find ourselves in I don't know what we will do next, but one thing is for sure less than a single percent of the people in this world are a threat to Nazarick and I don't think anyone is a genuine threat to us personally, however I will say World items from Yggdrasil have dropped into the hands of this worlds inhabitants and that may cause some issues." I say to them.
"Oh? And what ones are they?" Pero asked coming to terms with the whole multiverse thing and divergent time lines.
Luckily because of how horrible their old world was they didn't have a mental break down realizing they existed as characters in someone's story back in my world, they knew they existed and me stating for a fact that what was happening now wasn't written down by their own story maker calmed their minds a bit at that.
"I know that one of the Countries of this world Possess 'Downfall of Castle and Country' specfically in the country of the Slane Theocracy, 'The Nameless Book of Spells' is here as well but it's under heavy protections so it can't be misused, 'Two-World's Mandela' is held by a different one but in your worlds description the Story Teller left it vague to is location but it is that country's national treasure and one of the 'Twenty' is in the hands of one known as the Deep Darkness Dragon Lord but which one is unknown until we face him." I explain as those are the only ones that I know off the top of my head.
"But really based upon how the original timeline went 'Downfall of Castle and Country' was actually used on Shalltear forcibly turning her against us, however before she was fully under their control she would kill the user leaving her in a state where she couldn't move and anything that would get close to her she would attack on sight, leading to Momonga to go all out and even using several gear from our old guild mates to fight her to a stand still before you used "Falling Down" Twice on her to finally eliminate her before later using the gold in the Nazarick treasury to revive her." I say explaining what happened in the original timeline.
Hearing that Pero crosses his arms, "I…. I don't know how to feel about that, some reason the thought of you killing Shalltear Momo…. Makes me angry, but I know it hasn't happened, and I am sure as shit never going to let it happen in the first place!" He says clenching his fist to which Momonga nods.
"Hm, then it would be prudent to get that World item out of this worlds inhabitants hands, but that could be later, weren't we hear for a way to help Buku get a new body?" Momonga said getting back on topic that lead them here in the first place.
Hearing that I pull out the panel that allows one to buy anything as I searched around before finding it, a Transmorphic Potion, it allows fluid like entity's to form more humanoid like bodies, and it was cheap only costing 5 credits.
"Tell you what, this one is on the house, but next time you guys want to get anything your going to have to give up valuable items for anything to buy here in the shop." I say after making my own purchase of it only spending 3.75 credits due to my 75% discount as I handed the potion to Pero.
"Oh and take these too." I say pulling out three bronze orbs on necklaces and handing them over.
"These will let you guys be able to enter the shop from wherever you are, there would be a restriction on how many times a week you can come into the shop but I modified those to give you guys full accesse when you need it." Pero got two as one was for Buku and one was given to Momonga.
Seeing this they put them on there necks as I lead them back out of the shop with all of us returning to our Nazarick appearances.
"Oh and don't worry about changing looks next time you go in there, I only set it up that way so you'd believe me when I said it was a multiversal shop, thus if you wish to bring others of Nazzarick into the shop with you then you won't have to worry about potentially exposing yourselves." I explain to them to which they nod.
"Well I'm gonna take this stuff to my sister, hopefully getting a new body will put her mind at ease once she looks more human like once again." Pero said before leaving the guild hall.
"I should also get a grasp of where we are, after all you said this isn't the same timeline as what should have happened, so we need to get more details about the nearby area, if you need me I will be in the Throne Room." He said before teleporting away.
Seeing as I was along I cracked my neck, but before I could think of doing anything else I felt a disturbance and realized a new guest had arrived in the Shop.
I then smacked my forehead, "Right, because I let them in there the shop automatically became open, welp looks like I have to get back to work again, today's gonna be a longer shift that is." I say to myself before reopening the portal once more to the Multiversal shop.
'I wonder who or what is gonna show up this time?'
