Cherreads

Chapter 30 - 30

The next day, the twins and Ron arrived on the Knight Bus since my house didn't have a red flu we could use. The three of them brought Harry and Hermione's things, but they couldn't stay because their mother didn't seem too happy about young people of different sexes staying in the same house without adult supervision—or at least that's what she gathered from the twins' words before they started teasing Harry about not interfering with his little harem or interrupting Harry's advances with two beautiful witches.

I think their teasing wouldn't have focused on that if both Harry and I hadn't blushed at some of their comments. Although I have to admit their teasing was funny and didn't make me feel uncomfortable, Ron seemed annoyed for some reason the entire time they were at my house. Before they left, we arranged a date with the twins to do the school shopping together.

During the remaining time before September 1st, Harry and Hermione had already successfully created a clone, but they could only make one at a time, even though Harry was very close to being able to create two. I told them that it was possibly due to Hermione's lack of stamina and that Harry just needed more practice. I mentioned this because they practically had no physical activity other than Harry's Quidditch training and Hermione's running up and down stairs. So I had to talk to them about the benefits of physical exercise and how it helped accelerate the growth of the mana core. Only then did Hermione agree to exercise with us in the mornings.

When we were shopping with the Weasleys, I felt that Mrs. Weasley didn't like me, although I don't understand why, since I wasn't rude to her at any point. Because I was very uncomfortable most of the time, I decided that next year I would do my shopping alone, as I didn't want to go through a similar situation, especially since I had no idea what bothered her.

When we arrived at the station, I boarded the train first since Harry wanted to wait for the Weasleys, and Hermione stayed with him to keep him company. While I was looking for an empty compartment, I ran into Neville, who was also looking for one, so I asked him if he'd like to sit with us. Although he seemed nervous, he agreed. While we were looking for a free compartment, I came across a girl alone, with blonde hair, a wand behind her ear, surrounded by strangers, holding a magazine upside down.

I recognized the girl instantly; it was Luna Lovegood. She was a character I really liked from the Harry Potter story, and one I'd also like to be friends with. So when Luna looked up from the magazine, I said...

"Hi, my friend and I are looking for a place to sit... would you mind if we sat here?... other people will probably arrive later."

Luna looked at me curiously and spoke in her soft, dreamy voice.

"I don't mind if it's okay with you."

"Thank you."

Once Luna agreed, I put Neville in the journal and sat down next to Luna.

"Thank you for letting us sit with you, I'm Selene.

" "I know you, you're the girl with the eagle, right? I saw you at the Gryffindor table at the end of last year... I'm Luna Lovegood, you can call me Luna."

"Um... I... I'm... Neville Longbottom... nice to meet you, Luna... you can also... you can also call me... Neville."

Talking with Luna was very entertaining and fun, especially when she talked about invisible or unknown creatures. It was funny to see Neville's expression. Luna even told us about The Quibbler and gave us each a copy.

Luna was a very pretty girl and easy to talk to, but I noticed a few small details that I wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't been watching her closely. Luna seemed a little nervous and anxious to talk, trying to keep the conversation going, as if she were afraid that if we didn't talk about something, we'd leave or something. She also had small, involuntary body reactions when someone raised their hand near her. Based on her reactions, I think the people who bully her at school don't just hide her things. I'm not sure, but it seems like they also yell at her and maybe even hit her, which I hope isn't true, since I won't tolerate that kind of behavior at Hogwarts.

My mother created the school hoping that young wizards would learn to use their magic and defend themselves against their aggressors, not so that the students would harm each other. I think I'll have to investigate this further and talk to the teachers about it.

As we chatted, the train began to move, and a few minutes later the diary door suddenly opened, revealing Hermione's head followed by her voice with a hint of reproach.

"There you are. We've been looking everywhere for you."

Hermione entered as she spoke, with Harry behind her and Ron looking confused to see Luna and Neville already inside the compartment.

"Sorry, Hermione, I just met a new friend and got caught up chatting with her. Let me introduce her... guys, this is Luna Lovegood... Luna, these are Hermione Granger, Harry Potter, and Ron Weasley, the friends I mentioned earlier."

After the boys settled in, Ginny appeared, and when she saw the compartment was full, she left, looking a bit annoyed. I didn't quite understand Ginny, because from what I'd seen or heard so far, Harry didn't seem to have feelings for her yet, and it appeared she already had a boyfriend. But some of her behavior suggested she did, as she seemed to get annoyed whenever a woman was near him.

When we arrived at Hogsmeade Station, I separated from the boys. According to tradition, as a new student, I had to enter the castle like all the other new students—that is, like the first-years, guided by Hagrid in the boats across the lake.

I stayed at the back of the curious little wizards and could hear their chatter, full of wonder and admiration for every new thing they discovered. It was especially funny when they got scared by the ghosts before Professor McGonagall led them to the Great Hall where the Sorting would take place.

I was very curious to know which house I would be assigned to, as I had never been sorted into one before. I used to live in Ravenclaw Tower and was never a formal student at the school; I only attended the classes that my mother and grandmother wanted me to take. In those days, school grades weren't clearly divided, as placement depended more on a student's performance.

Before the new students were sorted, the Sorting Hat sang a song describing the characteristics of each house. Once he finished, all the students and teachers applauded. Then, Professor McGonagall stood beside a small stool, holding a long scroll from which she began reading the names of the new students. When it was my turn, the headmistress said,

"I would now like to inform you that a new student will be joining us in Year Four. Some of you may remember her, as she was at the castle during the last few weeks of the previous term... Miss Selene Ravenclaw."

The Gryffindor students at the table clapped and whistled; I think it was the twins who had caused such a commotion. As I walked to the stool, I could hear some whispers from students who thought I hadn't heard them, but I didn't pay much attention. Once I sat down, the professor placed the Sorting Hat on my head, and I heard her voice echo in my mind.

"Hmm... what do we have here... You never expected that one day I'd be sorting the little troublemaker of the castle."

I couldn't help but chuckle a little at the hat's words, as they reminded me so much of the way Uncle Godric spoke.

- Let's see... which house will be suitable for our princess... as your name suggests, you are someone who values knowledge and creativity, so Ravenclaw would be good... although it's not mandatory. What you value most... you are someone with ambition and determination, so Slytherin would also be good... you have great courage and can even be quite daring, yet your heart is loyal and just... with all your qualities, you could fit perfectly into any of the four houses and stand out... but what is this... umm... I see... so that's what it is... I've decided... your house will be...
